I was looking at a map. Doing my best to avoid Nate. I couldn't have made things any worse then they already were. I just couldn't believe that I made a stupid mistake like that, I had to be sure that it was never going to happen again. I looked at the map over and over again. Only Savage lands, that's all it was, we had no lands, we didn't have enough numbers in our army to take on threats like Mount Evans or the Savages
"Do you see a plan?" Abby asked from behind me, I heard her footsteps as she walked to stand beside me
"Nope. If our army was bigger, we could take the northern ridge into the Savage capitol and take out their army. To get to Mount Evans without being spotted would be different. As far as I'm aware, there's only one way in and one way out" I sighed
"We would need an even bigger army for Mount Evans, wouldn't we?" Abby asked me
"Drastically. We'd need maybe eight thousand soldiers, maybe more, Mount Evans has a lot of people fighting for them" I said and she nodded
"It's too bad, we couldn't form an alliance. There's some of the Savage people there too" Abby said, I turned toward her. What in God's name is she talking about?
"Abby, are you saying that you saw a hoard of Savages inside of Mount Evans?" I asked her
"Yeah, I saw them. They were in cages, it was awful, it almost looked like they were taking their blood" Abby said
"I have a plan" I breathed before leaving the room with Abby chasing after me. I was in a black military uniform, as we all were if we worked under my dad, it had our people's symbol on the sleeve. The Wolves, a group that doesn't stop fighting but it was dark and Abby was probably trying to see me even though I had the tendency to be completely invisible
"Annabeth, wait" Abby said as she finally saw me and grabbed my arm
"Just go find Nick, Nate and Courtney. I have to get my dad" I said and she nodded before going off in the other direction. I walked toward my father's cabin and knocked on the door. Well, pounded, I saw him open the door
"Annabeth, what're you doing awake?" he asked me
"No time. Get dressed and meet me in the Bunker" I said before turned away and going back to the bunker. I had to work out this plan. It was definitely going to need some love, some serious love. I heard footsteps and saw Nick and Nate coming down the stairs. Nate was completely awake but annoyed by Nick's yawning. Nick's deep blue eyes were still heavy with sleep and I wondered if he was sleeping while he was on guard duty. Abby soon followed after them
"Where's Courtney?" I asked and Abby shrugged
"I haven't seen her since yesterday" she replied. I figured that Courtney find some life changing technology and start fixing it up which would require all of her time. I saw my dad coming down the stairs
"So, what's this plan?" Nick asked
"Our numbers are drastically smaller than the armies of the Savages. But we have a common enemy, we could use that to our advantage" I said making direct eye contact with my dad who was thinking it over
"Common enemy?" He questioned
"Mount Evans is holding their people and draining the blood from their bodies" I said
"So, what're you suggesting?" Nick asked me
"An Alliance. We have to go straight into their territory. I know a girl that can get us inside" I said
"Absolutely not" dad said
"It's our only option. Half of our people are dead and 60 people are missing" I said and he shook his head
"Sorry but you're not going. None of you are going" my father argued. This is not how someone leads, this is cowardice in my personal opinion. I turned to map and pointed to the village of the Savages
"We go here with low numbers, half of us die and we still take the village" I said and the moved my finger to Mount Evans "we go to Mount Evans with low numbers and we all die"
"The answer is no" my father said turning away
"You're letting your people die because of one person. That's roughly 48 adults and teenagers and twelve innocent kids. That's excluding the numbers of Savages they have, you're just letting them all die like they're nothing" I said
"Somethings are worth more than 60 people" my father said before going up into the bunker
"What're we gonna do?" Abby asked from beside me
"Pack your stuff. We're on our own" I said before going up the stairs. Enough was enough, these aren't just games, this is war
