chapter 2

Amelia-

The car ride there was mostly silent.

I was afraid to talk because every time I asked him where we were going he just looked at me with no response.

I didn't know what else to say.

I was thinking so many things, but nothing I would want to ask him. Why would he want to take ME on a date? why was he being so secretive? Why am I so nervous?

I've never been on a real date before. All I could actually get to come out of my mouth was "Are we almost there?"

"We're almost there." He said as he turned to look me right in the eye.

The car pulled over in the middle of nowhere. There were trees all around us. Nothing but the quiet sound of wind and birds... it was so beautiful. Nothing had ever been so beautiful, yet so simple.

"You have to wear this." He lifted up a blindfold and placed it over my eyes.

"Whhhhyyyyy" I said in a whiny voice. he just grabbed my hand with his big, soft hands and led me for about 3 minutes.

We arrived in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. I had no Idea where I was and I couldn't feel anything around me. No sense of anything, The only thing that I felt after that moment was Justins hands un-doing my blindfold.

I blinked twice before taking a look at the scenery. It was the most surreal thing ever! I couldn't believe he would go through all of this for me, A girl he just hooked up with at a party 3 nights ago because this is so..... Amazing.

The candles lined up at the border between the grass from this little open space and the trees surrounding The vintage looking blanket lying in the very center and a basket in the center of that. It was like a movie. Things like this don't happen to girls like me.

"Take a seat" he said as he interrupted my awe and placed his hand on the small of my back, and lead me to the blanket. "Do you like it?" he asked with a smirk on his face. He knew I LOVED it.

"This is incredible Justin. I can't believe you did all of this."

"It really wasn't that hard,. The hardest part was getting all these candles to light" Just the the candle in front of us went out. "...and stay lit" he said, laughing. "So, do you want to find out what i brought for us to eat?"

"Of course!" I said with a smile. "I haven't eaten all day." At the moment I realized that today was probably the best day of my life. Nothing could ruin it.

Justin-

She was so beautiful. Watching her awe over the sight of candles and a picnic was so amazing. I didn't want her to stop just so I could remain in awe at her.

While we were sitting down, eating, I got a text from Evelyn. Well this night just got 10% worse. I should probably explain who Evelyn is to Amelia, How she is my ex who is still obsessed with me. How she would try to ruin Amelia if she knew about us because Evelyn knows more about me that I want Amelia to know.

She might even know more about me that I want to know. I can't tell Amelia about her. Not right now at least. Bringing up an ex on the 1st and a half date wouldn't be right.

"Justin, are you ok? You look upset" She interrupted my thought. I must've been thinking for awhile.

"huh.. Oh. yeah, I'm fine." I responded quickly. "Hey, I have something I want to show you." I walked over to one of the trees by the candles, and grabbed a guitar out from behind her.

"You play guitar?!" the look on her face was priceless.

"And sing" I said with a smile. I don't think it could compare to the smile on her face though. I thought about how wonderful it was to find her and finally get rid of evelyn... For awhile at least. I opened my mouth,singing a song i wrote for her.
