elsie lock

i sat down on the couch next to where dallas was sitting, followed by johnny and pony sitting back down on the floor. two-bit switched on the tv to watch mickey mouse. typical two-bit. that's the only show i've seen since i got here.

two-bit took swigs from his bottle while dallas stood up to step out and have a smoke. darry hates it when dallas smokes in his house. i remember him yelling at dallas to go outside or he'd kick him out. dallas wasn't much to listen to anyone, but it's different with darry and dallas. dallas knew that darry would stare daggers into dallas instead of actually doing anything to him. that look is scary, i'll say.

i stood up quietly and stepped out of the house to sit with dallas. he was sitting on the front step and the sun started to go down. the light hit his eyes and turned his beautiful eyes turn a dark gold. he was taking a puff from his cigarette when i did something even i wouldn't think of doing. i grabbed his cigarette from his hand, which left him with a puzzled look and i leaned in quickly and connected our lips. i have no idea what the hell came over me. his lips tasted like cherry with a hint of menthol.

when i finally released myself from him we made eye contact for a moment. he stared into my green eyes which had turned into a golden hazel.

"i'm sorry-" i whispered as dallas leaned back in, his lips hitting mine again. i reached my free hand up and cupped his cheek. we made out for what felt like hours, i was surprised none of the gang came out to see what we were doing. i leaned back and slipped his cigarette on the tip of my lips and took a long hit. a longer than i should've hit. dallas looked shocked.

"well i'll be damned, if it ain't the little angel hitting a cigarette and making out with a worthless boy like me." he chuckled, taking a fresh cigarette out of the pack and placing it between his lips. i grabbed his lighter and lit his cigarette with it. what am i doing? elsie, what are you doing?

"you're not worthless, dally." i sighed, taking another puff from my cigarette; i guess i can say it's mine now.

"sure i am. i mean, these women throw themselves at me all the time." he chuckled, taking a puff from his cigarette. "they only want my body. they know i'll give them a good damn time, so they decide to give themselves to me.".

i looked at the dirt in front of me. "well, i think you're pretty awesome, dally." i said, throwing the butt on the pavement and squishing it. "you heard the boys saying you're the one who found me and stayed with me to protect me while i was passed out on the ground.".

he looked at me and smiled sweetly. "thanks, el." he said quietly, throwing his cigarette on the ground and also stomping on it. "ya ready to go back inside?".

"yeah." i said, pulling darry's t-shirt over my knees as i stood up. i had almost forgotten that i wasn't wearing pants. luckily i hadn't put my legs up. i don't think dallas would've let me, to be honest. he would've thrown me inside and yelled at me.

we walked inside and i sat down while dallas wondered into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. two-bit, johnny, and pony were all still focused on the tv. steve was sitting at the table with soda, and darry was taking a sip of chocolate milk from a wine glass, ah yes; a man of class.

i kept thinking about dallas and our kiss. i almost wanted to stand up and kiss him again right there, but i don't think the others would like that. everytime a commercial would come on and we'd talk, dallas and i would look at each other. i bet i looked hungrily at him, craving his lips on mine.

his kiss was like a drug, and boy was i addicted.
