__________
"I'll always love you, forever." The couple right beside our table is having their moment. They're drunk I can tell. The line seems to be familiar pero masyado na akong na-impluwensyahan ng alak para alalahanin pa 'yon.
"Happy freshmen year!" Raya, my blockmate, shouted before we took shots of Mojitos tequila celebrating our first year as a college freshie. I took a sip, hindi ko na kaya ubusin pa. Kanina pa kami dito sa Katipunan malapit sa UP umiinom ni Raya, iniintay ang iba pang freshies na pupunta.
"Are they coming? If not uuwi na lang ako, sino ba kasi nagplano nito? hindi rin naman sumipot." I know I should be patiently waiting but my body is telling me to go home. The shot glass on my hand and my purse bag at the other. I just put on a brown skirt below the knee and a white tank-top covered with a flannel kasi alam ko na hindi pa naman ito 'yung official party for us freshmen.
"Dito ka muna! I know pupunta si Ian. He kept texting me earlier kung pupunta ka."
"And what did you say?" I curiously waited for a response from Raya leaning towards her to hear her clearly.
"Hey." Someone tapped my shoulders from my back. From the smell of his perfume, I already knew the answer Raya would give me. He is not the only one I remember who wears that kind of smell.
"Ian, I thought you're not coming. Where are the others?" I flashed a smile at Ian, my suitor. The boy from UST law. We are not actually schoolmates pero andito pa rin siya because of his friends from UPD. Hindi pa ako pinapayagan pumasok sa relationship ni Mama after that incident, but since Ian's mom is friends with her, she allowed me to. Only for him. It is also a good way to forget what I had in my past.
"They're on their way. I already called the organizer and he said he can't come. Urgent matter."
I sighed irritated. Mukhang hindi na napansin ni Raya ang sinabi ni Ian because she's busy talking to our blockmates.
After a few minutes, my other blockmates came. I wasn't doing anything since nag-usap kami ni Ian kanina. He left me on the couch saying he will greet his friends. Hindi na ako uminom dahil magco-commute pa ako pauwi. Tumayo ako para hanapin si Raya but she is nowhere to be found. Grabe, siya nag-aya tapos iiwan rin naman pala ako dito. Siguro naghahanap na naman 'yun ng pogi. The classic Raya.
I was searching for Raya but then my head bumped into a man's chest.
"Aray! Sorry." I hissed. Napahipo ako sa noo ko, ramdam pa ang sakit ng pagkakabangga. Masyadong madilim 'yung lugar na hindi ko na maaninag 'yung mukha niya. I said sorry because I was the one who is in a hurry. It should be like that, right? Standing in front of him, Nakita ko na si Ian. I excused and ran towards him, kausap ang mga kaibigan niya. Wala na akong paki-alam kung naiistorbo siya, the only thing I knew is I want to go home.
