Chap 6

Mr huang: Jiang Cheng, you should complete your studies, you are intelligent and you can get a much better future by completing your studies.

Jiang Cheng: no mr huang. I'm fine how I am.

Mrs huang: *kept looking at him silently and said* you should study and get a good job so that one day if you meet the people who brought you down here, they won't get the satisfaction of seeing you ruined. You can tell them to fuck off with your head held high.

Jc: I don't want to show anyone anything anymore. *thinking* "I don't even want to be alive anymore."

Mr. H: Just think about it, son.

Mr and Mrs Huang kept looking at him silently as he walked away to his room.

After a few days Jiang Cheng thought if he is eating, sleeping and doing a job like a living person then he should complete his studies and find a better job, it's not feasible to live all his life as a waiter if he is not gonna die anytime soon. So he joins the public HS nearby.

He goes to school in the morning and works at the diner in the evening, now he starts work in the kitchen too sometimes.

Mrs Huang, after seeing his affinity to cooking, started teaching him how to cook. And he studies at night because he can't sleep. And whenever he sleeps he wakes up crying and screaming because of his nightmares. Mr and Mrs Huang feel so sad whenever this happens but he doesn't accept help so they can only act as if they didn't hear him scream. He tries to lessen the sound by closing all the windows and door of his room and drawing the curtains but they can still hear him.

After two years he completed his high school Mr and Mrs Huang were happy and told him to get admission in a good college because he got really good marks but a few days later they both died in a car accident.
Their son who was living in another city came back and sold the diner and house because he can't stay here and has to go back to his own city.

Jc laughs at being homeless again. He knew something good is never for him.
He sleeps on the park benches and gets any and every type of job to collect more money as the money he had was not enough for him to rent an apartment, also he needs money for college too.

He works as a laborer, takes care of people's dogs for money, cleans toilets at the restaurants etc. He submitted his documents and admission forms and waited for the admission call. He knows he'll get the scholarship but still he needs money for his living expenses etc.

He collected enough money for a few month's rent when he got the call from Gusu University that he got admitted to the law college with full scholarship. So he gathers the measly possessions he has and goes to gusu.

He starts looking for a place to stay as he is not issued a dorm room still. He searched online for room sharing and found a few places to check for later but now he needs to look for a job too. He goes to look at the rooms and out of the five he bookmarked, he found one near enough gusu uni for it to be convenient going to and fro and also the rent is not too much. The room is small but has a window, so he won't feel suffocated.
At the back of his mind he is a bit worried about his nightmares because he is gonna share the apartment with 4 other boys and they surely won't accept him disturbing their nights. But he'll think about it later.

He has to join the uni after a week so he settles his things in the room, go to the washroom to get refreshed. Then he rested for sometime while looking for part-time jobs in the area nearby. He found a few places which needed part-time workers and dropped his resume.  (Jc goes by the name Yu wanyin since he joined HS again.)
