HELLO, sorry for being gone so long.  I've been trying to sort out my thoughts, so I deeply apologize for not posting more.  Now onto the chapter.  ALSO, READ THE WARNING.  THANK YOU.

Warning, none of this chapter is going to be cannon.  In the manga/anime I'm not sure if Annie's crystallization is actually what I say it is, and I'm not very good at science, so if any of this is wrong, please correct me.  Otherwise, enjoy.

Hanji POV:
It's been about a week since Annie was crystallized.  I've been asked to look into the material that the crystal stuff is made out of.  It's actually sodium bisulfate, otherwise known as NaHSO4, or in simpler words, inorganic salt.  It's commonly used as a preservative for food.  It's also used in many cleaning products.  It does dissolve in water usually.  I've tried pouring water over it to dissolve it, but it doesn't seem to be working.  It's somewhat like it's covered in oil or something, but it doesn't feel oily.
I touch the surface of Annie's crystal.  Feeling it out, and seeing if I can find anything loose instead of going off broken pieces from the expedition.  I find a little chunk, and take it.  I bring it to my table to observe.  Salt is usually easy to break.  So why can't I break it.  Or maybe... it's not salt at all.  It's crystallized oxalate.  Oxalate is what partly makes up kidney stones, along with calcium.  They bind together to make kidney stones.  It can prevent your body from absorbing the nutrients you need in your digestive tract.  This crystallization should erode over time though, and slowly break down within seven months. We should be able to get her out of there in no time.  We might be able to create something that puts pressure on this, so that the crystallization will break easier.  The more pressure, the easier to break.  It also seems to be covering in a thin, yet strong, protective coat of corundum.  Not sure how her body produced corundum.. did she eat it or something?  I feel like her teeth would break.  Or maybe she like swallowed pebbles of it whole.
I wrote down my discovery's into my notebook, and then left the lab to go find Levi to tell him what we have to do.  Although, too much pressure could hurt Annie, and possibly kill her.  If we do that we'll never get to find out who she's working for, and what they want.  I hung my head in shame of not figuring this out earlier.  So we might just have to wait out the seven months instead of breaking it up early.  I'll ask Deku if he has any ideas.

I'm sorry this chapter is short, but tomorrow will be a longer chapter.  Sorry, and thanks for reading!
