Bev's POV

"Look Richie, we just need some gauze and alcohol to clean ben up." Richie stood up and ran out of the room, and when. he came back, he had some cotton balls, alcohol, and bandages.

"Well Haystack, this aint gona feel pretty," and with that richie started using the alcohol to clean up ben's stomach.

"Bev, we need to get everyone together, I found something out about this town." I looked to Richie who didn't seem very amused.

"Please Richie?" He glared at me for a good long minute, before going to the phone and dialing the numbers to everyone in the losers club and telling them to meet us at Haystacks house. We had Ben's stomach patched up enough, covered in several bandages, and walked our bikes to Ben's house, and by some miracle we didn't run into any trouble on the way. Once inside, Ben asked us to wait downstairs for the rest of the group. Richie and I looked at each other and smiled.

"What's wrong Haystack? You got some stuff you don't want us to see up there?" His voice implied that it was either something bad or dirty.

"Beep beep Richie" He said clearly a little annoyed, his voice getting muffled as he gets farther up the stairs and to his room. There's a loud thump on the door, and I figured Ben was too busy cleaning up his room to notice everyone was here.  I opened the door to find everyone standing outside the door, their bikes abandoned in the grass in the front. They all look like they don't want to be here.

"Come on in guys," I tried to say it with a smile, anything to lighten the mood a bit. One by one they come inside. With everyone here, we went up the stairs and into Ben's room, where we found him closing his closet door shut pretty fast. His walls were covered with copied papers and black and white photos. There were a few posters with various things as well, the moon, and other nerdy subjects. I went to close his door, but I stopped and smiled at the poster covering the back of it.

My eyes shot to Ben and his gaze met mine horrified. I pointed to the poster, my smile getting even bigger as I tried not to laugh. I could see the pleading look in his eyes so I opened the door back up and I watched him visibly relax. It was even harder not to laugh seeing his face. Instead I tried to wipe the smile off my face as I joined the others in looking at all the pictures and articles that covered his walls.

"Wow wow wow, what is all this Ben?"Richie asked.

"cool, huh?" Ben sounded proud of himself and Richie gave him a bit of a funny look.

"No. No, nothing cool," Richie was clearly trying to resist making fun of Ben further.

"What's that?" Stan asked, pointing to a longer piece of paper covered in signatures.

"oh that??" He gestured to the wall, "That's the charter for Derry township"

"Nerd alert," Richie added in.

"No, actually it's really interesting. Ninety-one people signed the charter that made Derry, but later that winter they all disappeared without a trace." At this point we had all stopped and we were listening to every word he said.

"The entire camp?" Eddie sounded uneasy at the thought.

"There were rumors of Indians, but there was no sign of an attack." Ben continued, "Everyone just thought it was a plague or something, but it's like everyone just woke up one day and left. The only clue was a trail of bloody clothes leading to the well house."

Stan walked over to one of the walls that had a series of red lines all over it and pointed to it. "What's this?"

"A map of the sewers" We all stood in silence for a moment, wondering if he thought it was normal to have something like that on the wall of your room.

"Wh-wh-where was the wellhouse," Bill asked, but Ben only shrugged.

"Somewhere in town I guess" Ben answered, and Bill nodded absently.

I picked up a picture that looked like it had been taken out of a very old history book I studied the faced in the picture, curious as to when it was drawn. But that was when I noticed something in the corner. Something that if I was just glancing at the photo I would have never noticed. I had to take a closer look just to even be sure I was seeing it correctly. But it was definitely the clown. His warped face and strange tufts of hair.

"Just how long has this thing been around?" I asked. Ben shrugged in response.

"As far as I can tell he's been around as long as the town's been here, maybe even longer." Ben answered.

"You think he was what left the trail of bloody clothes all those years ago?" Eddie asked, sounding almost like he was gonna be sick.

"Honestly? He probably was." Ben answered nodding. To that we all fell silent, unsure of how to respond, and that's when the doorbell rang.
