We all met at The Dingo that night, and I wasn't ready for the rest of the gang to know the truth. As soon as I spotted the girls, I motioned them to come over to where I was standing.
"How did it go with Two, when you told him that we're real?" Sammy asked.
"We both cried," I said, choking on the words.
"I told Johnny, too. I couldn't keep it from him," Lilia sighed.
"I told Ponyboy, too," Kate mumbled.
"I told Dal, but then we figured that whatever happen will happen, so we just forgot about it and kissed," Emma replied proudly.
"I told Soda, and Sam told Darry, too," Liv remarked.
"So...wait...the gang already knows?" I asked.
"Yeah..."
We all met up with our dates, who heard our conversation. Seconds later, we had a group hug.
"If we go...we're still going to be family," I told everyone.
"I'll miss you so much..." Sammy's chocolate brown eyes looked into Darry's, and then the two kissed.
All of a sudden, something magical happened.
"Samantha Jane, even though I've only known you for the shortest amount of time, and I may never see you again, may I have the honor of being your fiancé? Will you marry me, my beautiful Sammy?" Darry proposed, with a ring in his hand and one knee on the ground.
"Yes!!" Sammy exclaimed, tears of joy forming in her eyes, smiling. We all began to clap as Darry put the ring on her finger in the golden sunset. This was our way of moving on. Happiness kept us going forward.
