thegirlwhoimagined from Tumblr asked: Could we please get a 2 for Arvie? I would absolutely die(and kill) to be his wife. Thank you so much and have an awesome day!❤️

2. "My wife used to always tell me: 'why can't a woman have the same ambitions as a man?'."

You loved being a housewife

You loved being a housewife. You loved taking care of your son and keeping the house intact while waiting for Arvin to come home. As much as you loved it, you couldn't help but feel bored. You decided that you wanted to work too. You didn't want to stay at home anymore. When you told Arvin, he was gladly supportive and you showed him how things worked at home and how to take care of your baby.

You were at your new job and Arvin was at home. He just put your baby down for a nap and he went outside to water your precious plants. He wanted to keep working, but he he was also very tired and he realized that working will make you happy. How could he say no to your happiness? Plus, you would get to explore more and learn new things and he wanted that for you.

The neighbor, Louie Miller, went out of his house for a smoke and he turned to see Arvin watering the plants. "Ain't that supposed to be your wife's job?" Louie asked, the cigarette resting between his teeth as he grabbed a lighter from his pocket.

Arvin looked up and saw Louie. He shrugged and continued on watering the plants, "She's at work."

"She's providin' for your family now? That's your job." Louie chuckled as he lit his cigarette. He offered one to Arvin, but he shook his head.

"She wanted to work, so she's workin'. Besides, I could spend time with my baby. I haven't been doin' that in a while." Arvin explained. It was quiet between the two of them and Arvin spoke again, "My wife used to always tell me: 'why can't a woman have the same ambitions as a man?'. She's allowed to have the same ambitions as me and she's also allowed to have the same jobs as me. It's just work, anyway. Work ain't got no gender or somethin'."

Louie thought about it and nodded, "I suppose you're right. Who's to say that a man can't stay home and does his wife's job, hm?"

Arvin chuckled, "See?"

"So, where's she working?" Louie asked.

"At a bakery in town." Arvin answered. He stopped watering the plants and looked at them and smiled when he saw that they were healthy.

"D'you think Merrylle would like that?" Louie asked Arvin after a moment of silence. Arvin glanced at him and shrugged, "Ask 'er. Doesn't she like fish?"

"Yeah, so?"

"Maybe your wife could work on one of 'em boats to catch fish." Arvin suggested. "Maybe she'd like that."

"Maybe." Louie said, before throwing his cigarette on the ground and stomping on it. "I'll see ya later. I have to go to work now."

"Alright." Arvin chuckled. "Have fun."

"Thanks." Louie sighed before walking to his car and getting inside. Arvin stayed put and waved as Louie drove off. The phone rang inside the house and Arvin rushed inside to answer it.

"Hello?" Arvin answered.

"Hi, honey." You smiled.

"Hi!" Arvin grinned. "How's work? Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong. I just wanted to call you and say thank you for letting me work. 'M havin' so much fun 'ere, Arv." You giggled. "I'll bring home something later, okay? Make sure you eat lunch."

"Will do, ma'am." He laughed. "I love you."

"I love you too."
