The hostile hospital. The name should call up warmness and kindness. It called up many things but none of such kind. Standing before the hospital, you had an uneasy feeling. The outside looked worn off by the years and weather. The Heimlich hospital stood on a deserted place as half of the building was still under maintenance. – "Come along children, let's spread some joy!" – One of the man cheerfully called out, holding a pack of balloons. His entire group started to cheer and celebrate as they were going to spread the word of joy to them. A young woman grabbed you by the wrist, pulling you with her inside. She kept hopping cheerful while singing a happy song. Looking over your shoulder you saw Klaus, Violet and Sunny Baudelaire following the group. The bog doors to the hospital swung open as you pulled up your nose at the sight of it.

The walls looked grey and damp as the wallpaper already started to curl. The floor was dirty and dusty as if the hospital hadn't been opened in years. – "Isn't this lovely?" – the woman beside you said with a wide smile. Her balloons in her hand came floating towards your head. It bumped against your head a few times as it annoyed you. Grunting loud, you kicked her balloon out of your face. Klaus saw it as it made him snort loud. You gave him a funny glance back as it made him snort even louder. His laughter made you blush as you quickly turned away. – "Let's spread our joy!" – The leader of the group said, throwing sparkles in the air. They twirled down, falling all over Klaus's head and shoulders. You were the one now to snort loud as Violet also laughed. The group started to get in motion, heading over to their first patient. You were about to follow them as you felt a tug on your sleeve.

Sunny was tugging at your sleeve for your attention. As you looked down, you saw her point into another direction. Taking her hand, you followed her towards her siblings. – "Let's find a place to hide before Count Olaf arrives..." – Violet said. No matter where you went, Count Olaf would always find his way to you. If he wasn't hunting you down, you would admire his determination and endurance. You followed the Baudelaire's through many narrow corridors. Passing some rooms with a tiny framed window in it, you got curious. Pausing for a moment, you got on the tips of your toes to peer inside. This was a hospital, but you hadn't seen many doctors or nurses, making you wonder if there were even patients. You lifted your body more up by the bars standing before the little window gap. Your eyes widened at the white small room with a single bed in it. The light above the bed started to flicker, his light slowly dying out. Your eyes then went towards the bed, making you gasp loud.

A man was strapped into his bed, barely alive, looking pale and skinny. Squealing loud, you let go of the bars and stumbled back. Through the window you could hear his cries for help as it send a shiver down your spine. Shaking your head, you tried to block the sound out of your head. It wouldn't stop as if you had set off an alarm. Running away quickly, you caught up with the Baudelaire's. Without looking you bumped against someone's back. – "Y/n you okay?" – Klaus asked you confused as he turned himself around. Still a bit shaken, you threw yourself at him. – "I don't like hospitals..." – you whispered to him, clamping onto him. Klaus chuckled soft, turning his body so that he was facing you. He was still smiling but it faded away, seeing the anxiety in your eyes. – "Nothing can harm you... I promise you." – he replied, removing your hands from around his back. – "Don't focus on them..." – he continued as he held your hands before him. – "Just focus on me..." – A soft blush appeared on his cheeks as you looked into his eyes.

Nodding you let Klaus pull you in motion again, letting go of one hand. You tried to glue your eyes to the dusty floor underneath you, passing the other doors. – "I think we're coming somewhere!" – Violet called out, leading the group with Sunny just behind her. At the end of the long hallway, you came to a crossing. Left or right that were our options. The left corridor showed more closed doors with bars on it. The right corridor ended with plastic sheets hanging from the ceiling. – "I suggest we go right..." – you suggested, speaking up as you didn't want to encounter any more patients. – "I do think right would be a better choice..." – Klaus backed you up, giving you a little squeeze in your hand. – "Right it is!" – Violet spoke out, motioning to everyone to follow her. A soft wind coming from behind the plastic made the sheets drag over the floor, making a terrible sound.
