Mixed Emotions

It was a week after the incident happened with Emily and I. Obviously she acted like nothing was wrong, when I got home that day from walking around the city. Only thing that happened was she asked for an apology for snooping through her phone and then told me that I need to find a job to support her and I. I wish I was stronger, stronger to be able to tell her to get out of my apartment and never come back.

Ever since I did come back though that night, she hasn't went to go hang out with her so called friend but she has kept her phone closer. Everytime she looks at it and smiles or giggles, I know it's him. Even so, I still can't do it, I can't tell her off. I just love her to much to do so, I want to fix things, I can't lose another thing in my life. So I went out everyday trying to find a job but it was no luck.

As I sat there on the couch eating while watching TV, I thought about everything that has happened. Even at the park and running into that guy was a bit scary. He seemed off, like he wasn't that much bigger then me but I felt intimidated by him. Like he could crush me an a instant, then again I'm not much to look at and I can't really handle my own.

I ended up sleeping on the couch that night and woke up to Emily telling me that she was going to her friend's place. 'Great here we go again' I thought. "Fine go but your not taking my bike anymore, I need it to go looking for jobs" I told her. "But she lives so far away, how do you expect me to get their!" She snapped. "Take the bus then, that's how I use to get work, you can do the same for your friend."

She glared at me and said whatever, as she got her bag and walked out the door. I sat their on the couch for a little bit and watched some TV, before getting up and ready for the day. I went around to a few more places that I thought might hire me but they were either fully staffed or I didn't have the experience for it. 'Maybe I should just pack up and move to a new place' I thought.

I decided to just drive around and enjoy the sunshine to get my mind off of things. As the sun was starting to go down, I decided it was time to go home. Once I got their, I noticed that Emily was just walking into the door of the apartment. I went inside and as always she was sitting down, watching her game show. I walked to the bedroom to change into more comfortable clothes and joined her out in the front room.

"Hey hun, how was your day?" I asked her. "Eh it was good, didn't really do anything." I sat there for a bit watching the game show with her and decided to ask about that night we fought. "So are we gonna talk more about what happened when I left?" She sighed and continued to watch her show, "no we aren't going to, you apologized and that was that." She said.

She got up and went to the bedroom and said she was going to bed. I told her okay and just sat there watching TV, till I fell asleep. I woke up and noticed Emily was still sleeping, so I went into the kitchen to make some breakfast before heading out for the day. I sat down and turned on the morning news, they were talking about more murders taking place but these ones were a little different.

The murders before, were horrifying and most of the victims couldn't even be identified. Although these two murders were stabbings, one took place in front of a liquor store and the other took place in a alleyway of a casino. The police could get no information on the suspect from the casino but a bystander at the liquor store did say that the killer was wearing a fancy suit but didn't see their face, so probably no help there considering how many people wear suits in this badass city.

The police do think that the murders are related though because both victims were stabbed in the gut twice and had their throat slashed. I turned off the TV, got my goggles and keys and headed into the city. Instead of looking for jobs, I went to a bar instead. I thought it was time to stop looking for a job and just move because no matter how many places I tried, I got turned away.

I just finished my first drink and was about to get ready to go when I smelled something familiar. 'That smell, I've smelt that before' I thought. I turned around and it was coming off the guy that just walked by me. He sat at the booth and ordered a whiskey on the rocks. He seemed familiar but I couldn't figure out from where, I sat there thinking about it, when he got up and walked over to the girl right next to me.

As he walked by I smelled his cologne coming off of him. 'That's right, it's the guy I saw smooth talking that girl at the gas station' I thought to myself. I recognized the cologne because I never smelt it before but it was good. "Hey, what's a beautiful girl like you drinking at a run down bar like this?" He asked her. "Why can't a girl ever drink in peace, there's always at least one guy that trys hitting on me" she responded.

He gave out a small chuckle and put some money on the table. "I'm terribly sorry miss, here I'll pay for your drink and let you be" he replied back. She looked at him and gave out a slight gasp. "My my, your eyes are so stunning" she said as she leaned closer to him. "Yeah I get that alot, nothing special, I guess I'm just a pure one" he replied back, while leaning in and kissing her on the lips.

She got up and as she did I could see what she ment by his eyes. The left eye was a shining red and the right one was a shining blue. 'I've never seen anyone with red eyes before' I thought. He held her hand and she gave out a giggle, "how about we find somewhere private, um I didn't catch your name" she said. "Just call me Lev, it's a nickname from a long long time ago. Probably before your time" he replied with a laugh.

"Before my time, that's funny Lev" she said with a giggle and they walked out the door. I paid for my drink and decided to just go home, their was no point in looking to get hired. 'I'm gonna leave, it's time to start somewhere fresh' I thought.
