Chapter One
I think that it's normal because every transferred students in this school has that unforgettable phase of their life but I can feel that Silvius Vanderbilt isn't like any ordinary transferee. I can feel something bad about him, his aura screams darkness, he is dangerous.
At first, I never really know why. He seemed cold and distant but he's not doing anything wrong but now, I understand. My instincts were right.
Silvius Vanderbilt was really dangerous, my spot as Valedictorian was endangered because of this genius and annoyingly handsome guy.
"Thank you, Mr. Vanderbilt. You may now return to your seat," Mrs. Strom smiled.
It's not her nature to smile but she just did, for Vanderbilt. Where did he get that charm? Even I cannot tame Mrs. Strom and she's family, she's my grandmother's niece!
"Now everybody, be like Mr. Vanderbilt. He is a great example of a good student. Iyan ang gayahin niyo at siguradong magtatagumpay kayo," Mrs. Strom said like she was sure of it.
I rolled my eyes, my guy classmates groaned while the girl giggled and some even clapped their hands for Silvius Vanderbilt. The latter only sat quietly on his seat. I can see the amusements dancing in his evil eyes while his face was showing no emotion.
"Maam!" I raised my hands.
Mrs. Strom's sharp eyes looked at me. "Yes, Ms. Miller?"
"I think Vanderbilt's equation was wrong. He wrote these letters when it should be numbers."
"I agree with Courtney, Ma'am," I heard Ivo's voice from the back ngunit hindi siya pinansin ni Mrs. Strom. I smirked.
"Ms. Miller, go back to your seat. It's my job to correct Mr. Vanderbilt, gusto mo bang ikaw na lamang ang magturo rito sa gitna?" she asked sarcastically.
I was not really embarrassed, many teachers had done that to me and I am used to it. Kahit na ang mga kaklase ko ay patagong nakangisi na parang nakakatawa ang pagpapahiya sa akin, it doesn't bother me anymore.
I looked at Ivo, he's sitting far behind me, katabi niya si Silvius Vanderbilt.
I grabbed my notebook and wrote something on it. I tore a page and passed it to Harriet.
"Give that to Ivo," I told her and she nodded.
I slouched on my desk while Mrs. Strom was still talking using her alien language. I don't know how my classmates can cope up with her class. I mean I almost fail trigonometry last year because I couldn't understand her. Good thing, Ivo was there to tutor me.
"What is this about? Why did you call me?" A curious face of Ivo Stanley Grange greeted me after Mrs. Strom's class.
My fellow classmates were on their way to the cafeteria and they hadn't noticed us.
"I can sense a threat. We can't let him in! We must tighten our defense, Ivo. Hindi ako makakapayag na malamangan ako ni Vanderbilt!" mahina ngunit mariin ang aking boses.
Ivo only smiled and assured me that it won't happen. Ivo is my bestfriend, other than Harriet. He understands me in every way, siya rin ang pumapangalawa sa ranking kung kaya't alam niya ang ibig kong sabihin.
