Taylor's brother Colton-20 years old*
~Taylor's POV~
Kyle and I had just agreed to go on our first. I didn't want to lose him already. He sprinted off into the direction the wolf took off into. What was he doing? I knew I shouldn't have done what I did. I regret it, but I wouldn't ever take it back; but I did it. I decided to follow him. I knew I would get hurt. Or someone else would, but if someone else got hurt wouldn't they need me? I had to follow. No matter how badly I wanted to stay. I couldn't find myself being without Kyle. I know it sounds crazy especially since I only met him a few days ago. I walked off, double checking to make sure no one else was following me. I ran off after Kyle. But Kyle was sprinting, like he was running for a gold medal in the Olympics. I wasn't very good at running.
I was just past the line of the forest. I couldn't even see the slightest hint that a human had even been here. Where did he go? I kept walking in hopes to find Kyle. After a while the human footprints, I was following, turned into a paw print. I got really confused. I had no idea what had happened. If there's both, then maybe the wolf attacked the human. If so, then that would mean that there's a body close by. What if the animal run off the human? Could the human be a shifter of some sort? Did the animal eat the person? That seemed like the most likely solution. There were so many crazy thoughts running through my mind about this. I walked until I came to a clearing. There I saw a different six-foot-tall wolf. His front legs straight and lay out in front of him. The wolf's head was lowered, as if it was bowing. There in front of the wolf, was Kyle. Kyle was yelling at the wolf. I didn't dare to move. What if this animal got frightened of my movement and tried to attack Kyle?
I hid behind a huge tree and watched. I stood there peeking around the tree to where I could see Kyle and the large wolf. I could hear Kyle talking to the wolf. This was very odd. The wolf seemed to have nodded in response. He seemed to know what Kyle was saying. The next thing I know Kyle Is running. I guess he was running back to the truck, so I ran as fast as I could to get there before he did.
I ran and I ran. I eventually made it. I looked back one last time as my foot reached the pavement. No sight of Kyle. Good. I walked speedily to the truck. His truck and my jeep were the only few cars in the lot. It was almost 5 at night. Why would anyone want to be here? I flung open the truck door I got in. I pulled out a book, left the door open, and made myself comfortable. Apparently that little adventure took a while. I wanted it to seem like I was there the entire time and didn't move a muscle. I focused on slowing my breathing. I closed the door and rolled the window down, with my long tan legs dangling out. I pulled open my book, rested my elbow against the arm rest, and pretended to read. I haven't even noticed Kyle approaching the vehicle. He got in shaking off what had just happened. Of course, he doesn't know what I had just witnessed.
I decided to break the silence. "What was it?"
"Some animals." He started the engine, checking the rear-view mirror then pulling out. Well, I kind of figured it was an animal. I wish I could have heard what Kyle was saying to the wolf. The wolf was beautiful. It stood six feet tall. It had purple eyes, and pure brown fur. I wanted to ask Kyle, but I couldn't. Clearly, I didn't want him to know I had followed him or saw. So, I just sat quietly. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was still leaning against the arm rest, and feet hanging out the window. He was listening to his favorite kind of music. It was an angsty alternative type. Finally, someone with the same music taste as me. I cranked up the volume, really liking the song that was playing.
I sang along with no problem. I have been singing since I was a kid. I loved singing and acting. I have been told I have a unique voice; I don't know if that's good or bad. SO, I let that answer depend on Kyle's reaction to my singing. I sang so loud. I only sing loud when I'm comfortable around someone. I don't even sing in front of my mom. But I sang. Kyle's eyes got so wide it had frightened me.
