*Taylor's mom, Dorothy- 47 years old*

~Taylor's POV~

I got a call from a blocked number. I hesitantly answered. School that day was normal, I was having a perfectly normal evening working on homework, Carly sat in the kitchen helping our mother make dinner. Mom, working on also working on meeting my standards for being a pescatarian for three years strong. It's similar to a vegetarian but can eat seafood. I was sitting in the living room typing a paper for English. I had no idea my life would change so much in one day. My phone went off and I raced upstairs to my room to catch it before the person hung up.

"Hello?" I cleared my throat into the phone.

I sat for a few seconds, no one responded so I decided to end the silence. "Look, if you think this is funny, prank calling, you need to grow up." I roared into the phone. I wasn't putting up with it. I tossed my phone onto the bed ready to get back to work on my paper. It was already halfway down; I only had a couple more pages to type and I was set. But this arrogant stranger called again. It was as well a blocked number. I swiped the answer symbol over before placing the phone up to my ear.

The voice boomed on before I had a chance to even threaten the guy.

"Come outside. Come alone, don't let your mom or that darling little sister of yours know why you are going or where you are going. You are going to walk right out the front door; you are to follow me. No questions. If you don't come alone, or you do not follow my directions," The line went silent momentarily. "Well, let's just say your sweet little sister and your brave and darling mother will suffer from your choices, won't they." He knew my weakness. My family. You don't mess with them. I was speechless. "I'm coming." I hung up the phone. I walked softly over to my closet; I grabbed a light sweater since it was barely fall. I stuffed my phone into my back pocket before sliding down the stairs and out the front door.

I walked out the front door. The figure turned around, so he was no longer facing me. It was dim out, I couldn't make out who he was but by his body shape, I don't think I knew him. He seemed to know me though and that is what is frightening. I took notes of notable features in case I had to call the police. We were now probably around 20 to 30 feet into the forest next to my house. He came to an erupt stop. He turned to look at me. There was something gleaming in his hand, I instantly recognized it as a knife. I was afraid at first it quickly transformed into terror. The most concerning thought running through my brain. He was going to rape me and then finish me off by peeling off my skin. This was how I was going to die. I took a huge gulp. He is going to make sure I stay alive to watc- My thoughts were cut off with his chuckling. I could see the attackers' pearly whites shining back at me. UH-OH. Here it comes I thought. Sure, enough it came. I felt a stinging sensation spread across my forearm. I rose my left arm to see he had slashed the skin on my arm. I hadn't even notice him approach me.

I shouldn't have left my house, but my family... They needed me. I wasn't going to sit by and let this guy, cut me or harass me, or hurt my family. I suddenly got a rush of adrenaline. I pulled my attention away from the gash. I lifted my leg high. I kicked this freak in the face. Benefits of being a dancer and track star I suppose. He fell backwards. He rested on the ground propped up on his elbows. His face read surprise. He scrambled to his feet, and I got into a defensive stance. I wasn't through with him.

"Oh, you want to play superhero now, don't you?" He rushed out the words, gathering himself and getting into a similar stance as I.

"Uh, clearly." I rolled my eyes. If I didn't want to play hero, I wouldn't be standing here, like this. Soon I felt a fist collide with my jawbone. I stumbled backwards, barely effected by the blow. I whimpered. Everything was becoming hazy from the blood loss. I grinned at this. I bet I looked like a psychopath. I ran at him, then swept my leg underneath him. He landed with a loud thud. The attacker clearly harmed. The fight went mostly like that. Him throwing beginner shots, me going full out ninja. Of course, it never really worked because I wasn't really a ninja. This was not how I planned my night going.

I was pushed to the ground. The man straddled my waist. He was pissed. His deep brown eyes were in slits. He wasn't going to show me anymore mercy. He threw punches. Left, right, right, right, right, left, left, right. I'm pretty sure, I am going to have some cuts and a broken nose, at least. A couple of punches later he decided to switch it up. He reached for my hair. Oh, dude. Come on. Not the hair! I just got this done. Too late. My head was already being bashed into the dirt. I felt warm oozing dripping from the back of my head. Ew. Everything became a blur. I no longer had any strength in me for a fight. I was ready to let go. I was slowly drifting off into a peaceful slumber, but not before seeing a giant wolf attacking the man who as on me.

The wolf was large. He had solid brown fur. I recognized this wolf as the one Kyle had been talking to. I turned over to my side. It wasn't my best idea considering I had taken many kicks and cuts to the side. I realized I was still bleeding out. The coward had pulled a knife on me halfway through the fight, which I thought he had lost. He ran back towards me. I just thought I had dodged an easy side punch. No, nope. That was not it. He had stabbed me again. There had been blood running over my curvy waist. Ouch. The pain was searing. I couldn't move anymore at this point. I had paid too much attention to the fight, but once the wolf had tried to take down the attacker, I was now watching the wolf.

The wolf was clawing at the man. I heard the screams and pleas of the man begging the wolf not to tear his limbs apart. The wolf was pissed. There was nothing that was going to stop it. I smiled a sickly grin at this. He's getting what he deserves. But there were many questions nagging at the back of my head, Why was the wolf 6 feet tall? How did the wolf know where I was? Why did the wolf just save my life? Why was this man stalking me? Who was he, and why did he attack me? I finally blacked out from the pain. I was content in the darkness for a moment. Until I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I was in an unfamiliar place.

I was swaddled in a cozy blanket laying on a black leather couch. There was too much sunshine in the room. My eyesight was blurred. I head a raging headache, and my body was sore. Why am I sore? I looked down. I was in new clothing, large clothing. It was a guy's clothes? My face scrunched up in confusion, I had no idea where I was, what happened, or how I changed clothes, or why I'm in pain. I tried to sit up, only to be shoved back down by the blinding pain in my arm and stomach. I lifted the shirt that rested on my torso. I noticed a white gauze wrapped around my mid-section and a white bandage to my right side. What? Then I noticed my hands had a couple of stiches, my hair felt sticky, as well as my face. I couldn't get up. I had to get cleaned up. I started to walk around hoping to find a bathroom. I found one at the end of the hall. It was the second door on the right. The hallway was long, there were over 6 doors. There was also a stair well in the living room. Why were there so many rooms? This place was massive.

I looked into a mirror of the bathroom. There were 3 slashes across my face? I had many different sets of stiches in those places. There were chunks of dried-up blood in my hair. The last thing I remembered before blacking out was, a huge wolf. What even happened out there? Where was my mom? My head felt light, and the room began to spin. Then my fragile body collided with the cold tile of the bathroom floor.
