Amber walked into the empty condo. She walked past every room to the master bedroom. She so badly wanted to just flop on the bed. She just closed her eyes and flipped down.
Thunk
Her face immediately hurt like hell. Bryan finally came jogging over to the room. Seeing her in a lump on the floor he winced realizing she was most likely hurt.
He picked her up slowly.
"Hey, can you hear me?" He questioned gently.
"Mhm, I'll live" Amber looked up at him, her nose was bleeding profusely.
Bryan picked her up gently and helped her to the kitchen. While he cleaned her nose up and gave her some ointment for the few bumps along the rest of her body she felt helpless.
Helpless
That feeling that made her gut wrench. She hated it with every fiber of her being.
Flashback
"DAMNIT AMBER" the man yelled.
The young girl simply sat at her spot at the table while he raged. The paper sitting there showed a C.Tear drops smudged the ink while her father yelled incoherent curses and complaints, she didn't hear him. Her mind was racing trying to find a way out. Should I run? ... no, he'll catch up to me... Can I ask him to calm down?... that'll just make it so much worse...
The thoughts spiraled and wrapped into circles. She realized she couldn't go anywhere. Do anything. Say something. All she could do was watch like a movie. But she couldn't just turn off the movie this time.
Current time
"Hey,Hey, did you hear me?" The man with dark eyes questioned, he was clearly concerned. It wasn't everyday someone totally zoned out like that while they were having a nosebleed cleaned up.
"Hmm? No sorry must've been lost in thought" she quietly responded.
"I asked are you okay with me unpacking your things while you rest, you took a heavy hit falling to the floor like that"
"Yeah sure, I can rearrange the things in the morning, can I just stay here in the couch?"
"Yep, I'll get to work" he said standing up from the kneeling position he was in.
I've only seen someone zone out like that once, god I hope she's okay.
He tried to get the furniture in quietly, making sure not to drag the nightstand across the wood. He's seen a few rooms in those lifestyle magazines at the grocery store so he did his best to make it look nice.
There was a queen sized bed in the center of the room under rather the window. There was an ivory comforter with a cream colored throw blanket at the end. The pillows were the same cream color.
The night stand to the right was a nice ivory with a lamp and catch-all dish on it. The drawer had reading glasses,a few books, gum,a journal and pencils, along with a sleep mask.
There was a vanity with several boxes of makeup and other accessories for her laid out. Bryan tried his best to organize the makeup by the type- but he was sure he probably messed up a little.
He unpacked the several long dresses and sweaters out into the closet ,does she know where she is? Was his immediate thought. He saw some of the smaller dresses after a time and hung them up towards the front of the closet. He unpacked the shirts, skirts, shirts, and other garments into the drawers.
Then he laid out a nightdress on the bed and started outside the room so he could tell Amber he was done and take a shower.
As he walked into the room with the couch he must've been quiet as he saw the sight in front of him.
There was some random tv show playing on the tv lighting up Ambers features. Her hair had been thrown up into a messy bun, and she had thrown the blazer she had worn somewhere else. Her shirt was unbuttoned a slight bit, and she had curled up into a ball watching the tv show.
Hazel eyes slowly met deep brown ones and she was a tad startled.
"Oh, uh, hey there" She stated, a little thrown off, but not upset.
"Hey, I came out to make sure you knew your room was unpacked if you'd like. I'm going to go ahead and shower, goodnight." He said and started to walk away.
" thank you"
What?
What had she said?
"Your welcome" he said quickly and scurried off.
To say Bryan was surprised was an understatement. He had been warned about her short temper and demanding domineer, but this wasn't what he thought. He expected no thanks from her, maybe even a scowl for doing something that controlled her. But no, it was a thank you.
He walked down the hall to his room a tad bit confused. But he went about his night routine anyways.
