You moved slowly to place the cake on the table. Just as you started trembling, Denki helped you carry it. Knowing how clumsy you both were, you weren't sure this was the best idea, but you both managed to place it down.
That was about it. It looked so simple; you didn't invite anyone besides Denki, and he only showed up in case you needed help. You weren't even sure if Shinso wanted anyone there, so you just assumed he'd want to keep it small. Still, you felt like maybe it wasn't enough.
A rattling at the door made the both of you look up in its direction. Well, too late to change anything now. As soon as Shinso entered, you and Denki yelled, "Happy Birthday!" Shinso jumped a little, but settled down a moment later. He rubbed the back of his neck. "You remembered."
"Well, duh! Our birthdays are close to each other! I just wanted to leave this here," Denki pointed at one of the gift bags surrounding the cake. "Just to wish you a good one! Well, I'm gonna go. Something tells me I should." His eyes darted between the two of you. You watched as Denki approached Shinso, gave him a happy birthday hug and walked out.
"What's all this?" Shinso walked closer and took a proper look at the table with gifts scattered all over it. "They're gifts, from your friends! I wasn't sure if you wanted a party, but I didn't want to overwhelm you. If you did, I'm sorry, but-" you were rambling. What if he didn't like this? You wouldn't blame him, it was ridiculously small.
Shinso cut you off with a hug. It took you aback as you weren't used to him initiating them. "Thanks, kitten. I love it. Too many people would have been a little overwhelming, so I appreciate you setting this up." He kissed your forehead as he pulled away, both of you smiling.
"Let's look at your gifts! Most of the people from Class 1A got you something, so did Aizawa," you pointed at another gift bag. "Some from Class 1B got you something. I wouldn't expect much from Monoma's though," you chuckled. Oh, did you start rambling again? You looked at Shinso, ready to apologize for your overexcitement again.
All words left your brain when you saw him smiling at you. You could feel yourself melting. His smile was so rare, but seeing it was worth the wait. "I'm sure I'll love yours. Can't not love the gift if I love the person who gave it to me."
The rest of the day was spent with the two of you eating huge slices of the cake and reading the little notes that came with each present. You absorbed every single smile, laugh and chuckle he gave as he read. You didn't want to forget.
"I didn't know so many people cared," Shinso placed down his fork. "Hell, I didn't know I had this many friends." He reached for a massive card, that was filled with more birthday wishes. That was your idea.
"I would have gotten you a cat, but that's not allowed," you laughed. Still, I really hoped you liked this."
"I loved it. I love you. Thank you. For the best birthday ever."
-end. This was actually so rushed, late and probably inaccurate, but I tried 🥴. I was thinking of making a separate book with 18+ oneshots, but I'm not sure. Maybe I will, maybe I won't.
Also, IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY YESTERDAY!!! Was supposed to post on my birthday (the 3rd) but I forgot to 😅.
Thanks for reading this fluff-filled book and suggestions are welcome :)
