The Beach with Eijirou Kirishima

yet another pov i already wrote, i hope this is ok! skip to 04:22, i think that song captures the feel the most :)

"Ooooh!" The water came back up the shore, the sea foam running over your toes and sending a slight cold shock up your body. "The water's a little cold!" You crouched down and let your fingertips touch the water just before it went back.

"Really?" Kirishima slid his crocs off, held them in his hand and moved next to you, waiting for the cool water to return again. You looked up at his rather bright choice of shoes and tried to hold back a laugh. It didn't work.

"What, why are you laughing?" Kirishima asked with a slightly confused smile.

"Why do you still wear crocs? Out of all the shoes, you chose them!" Kirishima shook his head, laughing with you.

"What's wrong with them? They're manly! What, you don't like them?" Kirishima wearing crocs was something you and your friends made fun of every once in a while. Still, the red head never stopped wearing them, no matter how much you teased. Instead, he just jokingly defended his choice in footwear with a smile.

You shook your head. "No, it's not that! Just, crocs." You had to slightly squint up at him because of the bright rays that warmed the day. Kirishima's hair and eyes looked a brighter red than usual.

The two of you had decided to visit the beach on the weekend; everyone else had some or other thing to do. Not that you'd minded; Kirishima was a very close friend of yours. The weather was too perfect to not go and feel the sand underneath your feet.

After just a few minutes of taking in the salty air and sea of the beach, you grinned. "You wanna go a little deeper? Get a little more refreshed?"

"Sure! Let's find somewhere to put our shoes first." After a few moments of looking, you found a spot not too far away from where you were. With a challenging smile, Kirishima took your hand in his.

Oh. 

"You ready?" 

Oh.  

You nodded and he led you deeper, the water slowly reaching just below your knees. Kirishima not letting go of your hand was something that he just did sometimes, he was a little touchy sometimes.

It was not supposed to make you feel like this. You weren't supposed to be focusing on how much you liked holding his calloused hand. Your heart was not supposed to beat like that.

"That feels good! Cold, but good! You enjoying this?" He glanced at you hopefully, waiting for your answer.

"Yeah." A slight movement of the water had you stumbling a little. A tug from Kirishima had barely stopped you from falling.

"Don't fall! I got ya!"

With both of your attention directed elsewhere, you failed to see the big wave heading your direction. Once you did, you both tried to run away, laughing at how badly you were moving. Safe to say, you didn't get away quick enough.

The wave hit you two, instantly soaking you to the bone. You fell over, getting submerged further into water. When you surfaced, Kirishima was dangerously close to you. He laughed. "You okay?" 

You smirked before you tugged him down with you. You weren't going to be the only one going back sopping wet.

When Kirishima surfaced, he took a gasp of air before laughing, wiping any remaining moisture from his face.

Had his laugh always been that beautiful? Had it always brought you this much joy? You didn't know about before, but you joined in. "You look like a drowned rat!"

"Oh, yeah?" Kirishima splashed you with water, his laughter never ceasing. His skin glistened because of the sun, eyes looking so playful. Obviously, you splashed back, as if you could both get any wetter than you were. 

The warmth spread through you as you never tore your eyes away from him. So, this is who your heart had decided on. Hair dripping with saltwater, clothes drenched and sharp teeth flashing you a smile as he laughed.

Eijirou Kirishima, you thought to yourself. Your best friend. Now someone you saw as more than that. 

Perfect.

-end, this will be one of my faves for a long time. i think ive expressed my love for this boy enough already, so I have nothing to say lmaoo
