"Look! Isn't this the prettiest leaf you've ever seen?" There were a few shades of red, orange and yellow splattered across it, and the pop of colour just looked so pretty to you. Shoto analysed the leaf you held in front of him as you walked backwards and nodded.

"Then again, that's what you've been saying all morning."

You smiled, letting the wind carry the leaf away. "I can't help it! Autumn brings such pretty colours with it! Just look around you, Sho!" You spun once with your arms out, the breeze feeling a little cool against your bare hands.

You were right, after all. You and Shoto had decided to step out early today, in spite of the light gray clouds blocking the blue sky. Gentle wind brought a slight chill, but it wasn't anything some layers couldn't keep out.

Not only your surroundings were aesthetically pleasing; you couldn't help but notice just how pretty Shoto looked that morning, like he did most mornings. The coat as well as the turtleneck he wore looked so good on his lean body and the warm colours he'd gone for looked so pretty against the colour of his skin. Not to mention how the wind managed to blow his hair in just the right way, and how the soft features of his face just looked so perfect.

Shoto Todoroki's beauty was something that still shocked you a little from time to time.

"Are you ok?" Shoto's calm voice snapped you out of your admiration. "You've been staring at me for a little while now."

You walked back up to his side, continuing down the clear road. "I'm fine. Just... you're really pretty, Sho. Like, wow."

Shoto looked at you, a small smile gracing his features. Your heart fluttered at it; the boy's smile was so rare but gave anyone the feeling of immediate happiness because they saw it. Knowing you were the cause of it had you feeling like you were soaring.

"Thank you. You're... very pretty too."

The two of you hadn't realised the small droplets of rain until it was too late; harsh rain fell on the two of you, wetting your hair and clothing. You grabbed Shoto's hand and started running down the road, squinting through the rain for any possible shelters.

"There's a shop there." Shoto took charge by gripping your hand and running in another direction, with you following right behind him. The two of you stopped under the roof of a small café. The outside chalkboard had little pumpkins and skulls bordered around the daily specials.

"Would you like to go in? Maybe have some tea, coffee or hot chocolate?" Shoto asked. It didn't seem like the rain would stop anytime soon, and the sudden craving for something warm to drink had overtaken you.

You nodded with a smile. "Okay, then." Shoto never let go of your hand as you both entered, a little bell ringing once you'd opened the door.

You and Shoto found an empty table and settled there. Besides the hushed conversations of the few people present and the splattering of the rain outside, it was silent. The smell of cinnamon with something sweet lingered in the air and the lights glowed a warm yellow. In short, the place felt like it could be a home of some sorts.

"You're shivering." Shoto pointed out from across you. He was right; the two of you hadn't gotten out the rain quick enough and in spite of the layers you wore, the cold from getting wet had gotten to you.

"Yeah." You tried to rub your hands together, blowing into them to keep warm. "Maybe a warm drink'll make me feel less cold."

Shoto nodded, then looked at you a little too long. "What?"

"Can I hold your hands?"

You paused for a moment, then nodded. "Sure." You held your hands out, letting them rest on the table. You still had to get used to Shoto asking for permission for little acts of affection. It was incredibly sweet how he asked your permission for any little thing he wanted to do with you.

Shoto held your hands with the utmost delicacy, then placed his left hand over them to warm them up. He then started rubbing your hands with his.

"I hope you don't mind, but this is how I can help make you warm. I'd let you wear my coat, but it's wet too."

Your lips pulled into a smile. He wasn't even trying, but he was always so sweet. The smallest gestures from him never failed to make your heart burst.

"Shoto, you're my boyfriend. I would never mind you holding my hand." You brought his hands a little closer so you could give them some little kisses. "Thank you."

That small gesture paired with your smile was enough to get Shoto's heart fluttering. He was really trying, always trying to make you feel safe. He was so glad that you remained so patient with him, always giving him peace of mind with the flashing of your teeth at him. The fact that you could have so much better, but you chose to be with someone like him, who required someone with a lot of patience willing to care for him never failed to make him feel.

And oh, how much he felt for you.

"You're welcome, love. Want to order something to drink?"

Once you'd told him what you wanted, he calmly walked up and placed the order. No matter how often you protested, Shoto always made sure to be the one who paid whenever it was needed. He had money, so what was the problem with spending it on one of the few people he actually cared about?

Not too long after, he came back with your drink, but with a cupcake you hadn't asked for. The icing was orange with the face of a black cat. "I thought you might want something sweet. Here you go."

Gosh, he was just so precious. "Thank you." Todoroki placed your items in front of you.

The time afterwards passed so peacefully. A few sips of your hot drink went down your throat in the most satisfactory way, the heat spreading from your chest outwards. After you'd insisted he had a piece, you ate the cupcake he got for you. Not too sweet at all, just perfect.

Occasionally, you would talk a little about whatever, but silence mostly remained between the two of you for a while as you just soaked in some silent quality time and shared looks that spoke better than you could at that moment. No words were ever needed, just knowing that you were there for each other in the homely little shop with the soothing sound of rain and keeping each other company was enough.

You silently thanked the rain, making a mental note to come back more often with Shoto and have many, many more mornings like this.

Peaceful, warming and beautiful.

-end, im not a shoto simp, but he'd be the SWEETEST like omfg. He also has no right being as pretty as he is. Wow, might've converted myself lmao. Hope you enjoy this, and leave any suggestions in the comments!
