Max: a damn crime
Max: I think Miss Henderson knows.
Spencer: knows what?
Max: about... us.
Spencer: why?
Max: I held the door open for her and she didn't even say thank you. I think she's mad she didn't get to you first.
Spencer: shut up
Max: and she wonders why her dog acts like that, gets it honest. It wouldn't look at me either.
Spencer:😂
Spencer: I know this is probably weird, but I meant it when I said that was the best sleep I think I've gotten in years.
Max: Yeah? I don't imagine investigating is very conducive to beauty rest.
Spencer: Haha yeah, no rest for the wicked here. It's just... I've been through a lot the past few years. I try to just not think about it during the day, but I think it keeps me up at night.
Max: I know what you mean. Sometimes I have nightmares about bad things happening to my kids and wake up in a panic.
Spencer: Yeah, I mean, I'm not up all night dwelling on things or anything, I just can't shut my mind off at the end of the day. I can't sleep even though I'm exhausted and I try to keep busy reading or something.
Max: Or with me? 😇 Those sound like healthy coping skills to me.
Spencer: Haha! That's what I'm saying, something about the other night I actually could relax for once. But... I've definitely had my fair share of "unhealthy coping skills" in the past.
Max: Well I'm glad I could help you rest a little 😜
Spencer: I guess this is my way of telling you, I do have some post traumatic stress... and it's not always been nice.
Max: I would imagine so, with your job and all.
Spencer: Yeah. I've been through ... and experienced a lot...
Max: You talk about it with your therapist, right?
Spencer: yeah, we're working on it.
Max: Good. Well maybe when you get back, I can help you out with that some more, the sleeping thing. 😉
Spencer: Yeah?
Max: 😌
Spencer: Hey, getting on the jet. I'll be back at about 11pm if you're... around.
Max: I'll be up.
