Chapter 10- Her
-Jacob's point of view-

I woke up to a mass of brown hair in my face. I slowly moved the hair away to see where the hell I was. Oh wait I'm at Cali's house, we fell asleep watching either Teen Wolf or Pretty Tiny Liars, something along the lines of tiny.
I heard faint snores coming from Cali. Now this is something I could get used to. Waking up with a beautiful girl beside me. If only she still loves me.
"Dammit, I screwed it all up." I hissed.
"What?" Cali mumbled.
"Oh,uh, good morning. . ." I gently pulled Cali off of me so she was now sitting beside me.
Cali pulled her hair up and yawned. "Morning,"
Aw, she's so adorable and-God I sound like a girl.
"Morning, uh, I should probably go now."
I look of hurt shot through Cali's adorable brown eyes. "Why? You can't, Tyler is probably still tired form the party and he has that huge gash on his forehead. What if my mom gets that crazy again."
Seeing Cali sad literally hurt to see or even think about.
I pulled Cali back onto my lap. "Well, today's Friday so I was going to try and not miss school again but I'll stay with you."
Cali wrapped her arms around my neck. "Thank you,"
"So what do you want to do today?"
"I want to skip breakfast and just go to lunch for subway." Cali played with a loose string on the colar of my shirt.
I looked at the clock, it was only twelve twenty. "Okay, you go get ready and I'm going to go to my house and get some new clothes and shower too. I will be here before you're done okay?"
Cali nodded. "Okay,"
I kissed Cali on the nose and set her off of me and I got up and walked over towards the basement door. I went down the carpeted stairs and saw Tyler passed out on the leather couch. I quietly opened the door that lead to the garage.
**
I turned the hot water off and stepped out of the shower and started to dry off.
There was a rough knock on the bathroom door. "Why aren't you in school?" I heard a angry voice demand.
"Relax, I'm taking a shower."
"I said why aren't you in school?"
"Don't get our panties in a wad, Carol."
"Excuse me?! Don't you call me by my first name or sass me, young man. Wait until your Father hears about this." She screeched.
"Alright, just let me get ready for the day, woman."
Carol groaned in protest but I heard her footsteps fade. God, she's so annoying.
**
I opened the front door and went upstairs to Cali's room to find her sitting on her bed scrolling through Vine.
"Ready to go to subway?" I sat down next to Cali.
Cali turned off her phone and slipped it in her front pocket. "Duh,"
I grabbed Cali's arm and dragged her down stairs and all the way to the garage. "Who is driving?"
Cali opened her mouth but then she quickly closed it.
"That's what I was thinking." I smirked and grabbed my keys that we're haphazardly thrown on top of a huge stack of old newspapers.
Cali opened the garage door and we walked to my Black Jeep.
**
"I'll have a Teriyaki sub." Cali told a teenager who looked to be around sixteen or seventeen.
"Okay, six inch or twelve inch?" He asked.
"Twelve,"
He nodded and looked back and forth between me and Cali.
I found myself feeling a bit annoyed by him for some odd reason.
"Is that all?" He asked Cali.
His name tag said Matt.
"Yes." Cali pulled out her credit card and handed it to him.
"No, that's not all." I quickly spoke up.
I grabbed the card from Matt and gave him a ten dollar bill instead. "Add a coke and a meatball hoagie on there."
Matt mumbled some profanities under his breath. Then once the receipt was printed out and I was handed my change. Matt grabbed a subway napkin and wrote down ten digits. He handed it to Cali but before she could grab it I yanked it out of Matt's hands and crumpled it up.
I blurted three words that could make Cali not wanna be around me. "I'm her boyfriend." But I took the risk because I realized why I've been acting like this it's her. Her. Cali. I never realized that one girl could make you this crazy.
Matt had an embarrassed look on his face. "Sorry, I should've guessed by the way you two look at each other. My bad."
I nodded. How the hell do we look at each other?
Cali grabbed her sub and we headed for the door.
Once we got in the Jeep, Cali started to complain. "Why would you say that? I mean he was cute! I'm trying to get over Ryan. Jake!" She groaned.
"I'm sorry, I just don't want to see you getting hurt."
The look on Cali's face softened and she pulled me into a hug. "Jake?"
"Yes, baby?"
Dammit why do I keep calling Cali Baby?!
"Baby? Is that my nickname?"
"Why not, after all I am your boyfriend." I rolled my eyes, referring to what just happened in subway.
"What happens in subway stays in subway." Cali giggled.

I started the Jeep. "Where to?"
"Oh! What about that old tree house we made in the woods behind this subway?" Cali laughed.
I forgot we even made one. But why at subway?
"Okay, you lead the way because I can't remember where it is."
A few minutes later we stumbled towards a tall oak tree with a decent size tree house on top of it. I grabbed the ladder and started to climb up it with Cali following closely behind me.
We got inside the tree house and it was covered in leaves. "Well, at least there's no spiders." Cali shrugged.
I pushed the leaves out f the treehouse and sat at the clear spot. cali sat next to me and she rested her head on my shoulder.
"I miss this." She sighed.
"Me too,"
Cali started to laugh. "I still can't believe this is even still here."
I grabbed Cali's hand and intertwined it with mine. "Yeah,"
Why were we acting like a couple? What even are we? Friends?
"Jacob, can I try your sandwich?" Cali said with a mouthful of Teriyaki in her mouth.
I started to laugh. I didn't even realize she was even eating her sandwich.
I unwrapped my sandwich and handed her my meatball hoagie. Cali handed me her sandwich.
"Are we swapping?" I joked.
"No we're just trying each others subs." Cali took a bite out of my meatball hoagie.
I ate some of her sub. Surprisingly, the teriyaki wasn't that bad. We took our subs back and finished whatever was left of our own.
I grabbed my coke and started to drink some of it.
"Give me some," Cali fake whined.
I shrugged. "Eh, maybe."
Cali crossed her arms and started to guilt trip me with her big brown eyes. If that even makes sense.
Defeated, I sighed and handed Cal the rest of my coke. "Hurry up and drink that; I don't want to be here anymore. To boring."
Cali gulped the rest of the coke down and handed me the cup back. "Here you can keep that. As a little something to remember me by."
Before I could say a smart-ass comment, Cali's phone started to vibrate.
Cali pulled it out from her pocket. I confused look flashed across her adorable face. "Hello?"
I heard muffled voices on the other line.
"What?! Okay I'm coming."
Cali's bottom lip started to wobble, ake thing she only did when she was about to cry. "Cal?"
"W-we have to go."
"Why?"
T-tyler and M-mom."
"What about them?" I started to stand up in the tiny tree house.
"Someone calmed from Tyler's phone and told me."
"Told you what, baby?"
Shit was about to get real.
"The house is on fire."
