Trying To Moving On

Tessa's POV:

It's been two days since I saw my little baby at the doctors, and it has been so boring. Just as I'm scrolling through Instagram I get a dm from someone. I open it and turns out is this kid named Jack, I know Jack from school. I mean we use to hang out last year in class, and we were pretty close. He is also one guy that was just a friend and has never been anything more.

"Hi" The message reads.

"Hey" I reply back.

"It's Jack btw. You know the guy from last year in class?" He sends.

"Yeah I know who you are Jack" I text back.

"Good, umm so I was wondering are you single now?" He asks. Oh my gosh. How does he know? Who else knows? Wait does he like me? I mean he is kinda cute. He probably isn't even going to ask me out.

"Yeah I am, why?" I reply.

"Well I was thinking me and you should go on a date. Because I mean, I've always kinda had feelings for you but then I was too scared to. Then eventually I was going to but I saw on Zed's story, you and your group went on a trip. And in that story you and your boyfriend were in it" He texts. Holy shit.

I feel kind of bad for him, I would of hate to be in that situation. But this could be my time to move on from Hardin and be with someone that could actually like me. Then I remember I'm pregnant with Hardin's kid.

"Yeah I'm so sorry about that. I really didn't know that you liked me. And I'm not too sure about that date" I text him.

"Why not?" He answers.

"Do you know Hardin Scott, the guy I was dating?" I ask.

"Yeah" he replies.

"I'm pregnant with his kid" I explain. I'm scared of what he'll think. I sit there impatiently waiting for his reply.

"Oh so that must be why he broke up with you. I'm sorry about that, some boys just care but not enough. But I don't mind that your pregnant, I think that it's okay cause I like you for you" He says. He doesn't mind? And he likes me for me? Can a guy be anymore caring then this?

"Well then, I would love to go on a date with you" I send quickly.

"Great, what about tonight?" he messages.

"Yeah for sure" I text him. Then soon after we arrange everything. Jack said he'd pick me up at around 8 o'clock to go to this drive-in to watch a movie, so I have an hour and a half to get ready. I don't even know what movie, Jake said it was a surprise.

"Steph" I call out to her and she walks in her room.

"What's up?" She asks.

"Guess who asked me on a date?" I say excitedly.

"Hardin?" She guessed. Of course she thought him, Steph was really keen on our relationship and wants us to get back together. But that will never happen again, no matter how much I love him.

"No, and remember Hardin and I are done for good. It was Jake, you know the one I used to hang out in class last year and had a tiny crush on" I tell her and she looks at me confused.

"Jake Green" I remind her.

"Oh him. So what kind of date is it?" She asks with a big smile on her face.

"We are going out to see a movie at the drive-in. He's picking me up at 8" I inform her.

"Wait, does he know your pregnant with someone else's child?" she questions.

"Yeah he does, and he knows it Hardin's" I inform her.

"Well I was going to a party with the group, Zed is hosting like usual. I mean if you didn't have a date you could've come" She tells me.

"Well me and Jake could probably drop around after the movie" I say.

"Yeah definitely. So what are you gonna wear?" She asks.

"I don't know, what should I wear?" I'm kind of nervous about this all. Like it's only been 2 weeks I think since Hardin broke up with me. I loved him, and I think this could be a chance for me to move on. But I don't want to use Jake. I'm not using him, I don't think I could ever do that to someone.

"Well I think you should wear something hot, show off your pregnant glow and your little bump. Maybe wear like a black cropped top, with black tights. Because the will make you pop, I mean for 3 months pregnant your big" She says.

"I'm big?" I ask and she laughs.

"Not like that, but you have to wear that, with some jewellery and my white vans" She tells me, then my phone goes off.

"Hey sorry the movie actually starts a 7:45, so am I all good to pick you up in 15 minutes?" I get a message from Jake. I have 15 minutes to get ready. Shit.

"Yeah all good" I reply.

"Steph I have 15 minutes to get ready" I tell her in a panic.

"It's okay, we just have to get you ready fast. Do you need to have a shower?" She asks and I shake my head. I already had a shower before.

We grab the outfit I'm wearing tonight, I sit in front of the mirror and do my makeup, while Steph straightens some of my hair. Which is just some mascara and lip gloss, because if I put on a full face of makeup I'll probably feel sick. I finish up getting ready and honestly this is the fastest I've ever gotten ready ever in my life. Thankfully I got ready in time because I saw Jake pull in Steph's driveway.

"He's here" I tell Steph.

"Well what are you doing? Go out there" She tells me.

"Okay, so I'll see you after the movie. Make sure your gonna be at the usual sitting area" I tell her and she nods.

I grab my purse and walk out to Jake's car. I see that he has the biggest smile on his face.

"Hey" I say as I get in his car.

"You look great" He tells me and I giggle.

"Thank you, you look great too" I say.

"So I was thinking that after the movie we should drop around to Zed's. He is throwing another party like usual. And I think it would be fun, and I mean my friends are a big part if my life. So I think if we were thinking about getting together, I would want you to get to know me and what's important to me. You know?" I explain, looking over at Jake, scared that I spoke too much and he has the biggest smile on his face.

"Yeah that should be fun" He says.

"So what movie are we seeing?" I ask.

"The Last Song, I thought you's like it and they are playing it tonight" He tells me.

"I love that movie" I say with a smile on my face.

"I got snacks and everything, even a comfy blanket and pillows" He says and look at him with the biggest smile that says I'm so eating all those snacks.

"Also, are you actually okay that I'm.. you know... pregnant?" I ask nervously.

"Yeah I'm okay with it, I've liked you for awhile now Tessa" He admits.

"Look I'm really hoping that we can eventually have a relationship" He says nervously.

"I mean I like you too" I say, I mean I think I like him too.

"Well why don't we try a relationship out?" He asks and it reminds me of when Hardin and I agreed on trying our relationship out. But that is in the past.

"Yeah, definitely" I say and leans in giving me a kiss on the lips, leaving me grinning like a kid.

"Well we should get going before we end up being late" Jake laughs.
