Y/N was assisted by Niki to go to the main ballroom. Niki was wearing a simple dress with a matching mask. They walked to the ballroom, Y/N nervously fiddling with his fingers.

"Hey," Niki spoke. "Calm down."

Y/N looked at her and smiled.

"There's nothing to be worried about Y/N." Niki continued. "Just enjoy."

"I'm not worried about the party, Niki," Y/N responded.

"Then what are you worried about?" Niki asked, now much more concerned.

"I'm leaving tonight and I haven't told Ranboo yet.." Y/N said their voice lowering.

"I told you to tell him early!" Niki scolded.

"I'm sorry!" Y/N responded. "I just didn't find the perfect time to do so."

"Tell him tonight. Okay?" Niki said, grabbing both of Y/N's arms and making them face each other.

"If I can talk to him," Y/N replied. 

"You have to talk to him," Niki added. She held Y/N's face in her hands and smiled. "I won't be able to help since I’ll be busy."

"It's okay." Y/N smiled. "I'll try my best."

"Okay," Niki replied. "Now let's go!"

Niki pulled Y/N, making them giggle.

"Your brother will come here shortly," Jack told Ranboo.

Ranboo nodded and Jack immediately left. He went back into his room and picked up his mask, his mask covers 3/4 of his face. He stared at it for a while. Tonight might be the night he will reveal his face to someone.

A knock came at his door after a while. He looked back at it and walked up to it. He opened it and saw his brother Techno on the other side.

"Oh good." Techno started. "I thought I’d have to wait longer. Come on."

Ranboo just looked down in response, Techno realized, and asked what's the matter immediately.

"What happened?" He asked. "Did something bad happen?"

"I... I just remembered mom." Ranboo replied. "It's the first party without her and she is always the one who gets me ready for these things."

Ranboo looked up at Techno with a sympathetic look.

"I miss her," Ranboo muttered. "Very much."

Techno entered his room and hugged his brother.

"I miss her too." Techno broke off the hug and placed his hands on his brother's shoulder. "But we have to be strong."

Ranboo nodded. Techno then grabbed Ranboo's mask from his hand and put it on Ranboo.

"There," Techno said, finishing tying up the ribbon. "Now let's go, father would get disappointed if we slack off."

Ranboo got out of his room. Before closing his door, he saw the unfinished painting of his and Y/N. He smiled and then closed the door. He and his brother now walk down the hallways to get to the ballroom.

When Y/N and Niki arrive at the doors to the ballroom, people are coming in one by one and the noise from the inside can be heard.

"That is a lot of people," Y/N whispered.

"Mhm," Niki responded. "It has been a while since the last party the king threw so people were delighted."
