I had been running around town for the past couple of days. I had been surviving off little berries that I could find at the edge of the forest. I didn't want to steal and get in trouble as soon as I got there because it meant that I'd be screwed straight away. Every night, I opened my backpack and used the clothes I had as a blanket in the night, I'd sleep on benches near the forest because I was scared for people to see me but i made sure I was away from the forest as well. The teachers had been screaming in my head ever since they couldn't reach me since I was past their territory line, I tried to keep them out as much as I could but it would creep through sometimes. I was sleeping on one of my benches when I heard a snap of a twig which made me shook up, my hood still covering my head as I whipped my head round in the direction of where it came from
"Hello?" I called out, stuffing my blanket in my backpack as I started to put it on. Another twig snapped in the other direction as I turned around to see a girl standing there, she had white hair but was holding a wig in her hand which was a sandy blonde, she looked guilty
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you" she apologised while I shook my head
"It's ok I just thought you were someone else" I explained while rubbing my eyes with tiredness while she just nodded looking at my hands which had their red mist around them
"Wow! You can do magic?" She asked while admiring my hands. She started to walk over to me and I stepped back slightly so she stopped
"You don't need to be scared of me" she said with a sweet smile which made me stop walking backwards slightly
"What's your name?" I asked her as I let her step forward until we were closer
"Addison, what about you?" she asked while I looked at her, debating about it but for some reason I feel like I can trust this girl
"My names Darcey, Darcey Russell" I introduced myself to her while she smiled at me and I gave her a small smile back. I like this girl, she's very smiley
"Where do you live? I can walk you home if you'd like?" She asked and I shook my head pointing at the bench
"I've never had a home, that's where I sleep for now until I can find someone else"I explained while she looked heartbroken
"Well do you have any friends?" She asked while I looked down and shook my head, I suddenly felt arms around me as I felt Addison, who was a year younger then me and slightly shorter was hugging me and I hugged her back so it was less awkward for us
"Well I'll be your friend then and if you have no where to stay then I can surely get my parents to agree, I've always wanted a sister and you'll be an amazing sister I know it" she explained, taking my hand as she led me to a row of beautiful houses
"Addison I don't know about this, what if they dont like that I have magic, I don't think this is a good idea" I said but here I was, now sat in Addison's house with her parents looking at me
"So you have been hidden away for 10 years because of these teachers that tortured you into trying to be something you're not even sure you want to be?" Addison's dad, dale asked me, making sure he'd gotten my story straight. Me and Addison had left out the mate bit as it might scare them because it is a werewolf. I nodded looking down
"I apologise for barging in your house. Addison just tried to be kind, I'd completely understand if you didn't want someone like me near your house but I beg of you, just don't take me back to them" I begged them and Addison's mum, missy looked at me, then kneeling in front of me, wiping my tears off my cheeks
"Oh you poor girl, dale we can't let her live outside" she argued while looking at dale, who was looking at me
"I didn't say she was going to leave missy, we are going to keep her but" he said while looking at me
"There must be a few rules, 1) you are no longer Darcey Russell, you are now Darcey Wells. Your story is that you are my long lost sisters daughter and you've come to stay us because you wanted to get to know Addison 2) try not to show your powers as you will be treated different and we don't want that for you 3) you don't mention Addison's hair around anyone else as she wears a wig and finally 4) you need to live some of the seabrook lifestyle so people don't suspect things, you will be allowed to what you want but no eccentric coloured backpacks or school things and your room has to be light blue or pink" he explained and I nodded, smiling widely
"I'll take a light blue room please if you don't mind" I said and they nodded, smiling. Dale takes my things up to my new room and missy took me to the kitchen
"Right i bet you're starving, we have steak, pizza, sausage and mash, what do you want my lovely?" She asked as I looked at my options, stunned as I'd never seen this much food in my life and Addison chucked
"Do you want to share a pizza?" She asked and I nodded while missy smiled, putting the pizza into the oven.
Later on I was taken to my room where I was told to rest so everything else could be sorted in the morning, Addison went to leave the room but I called out to her as she turned back around to me
"Can you stay Addison?" I asked, scared to be in the room alone cause the last time I was, I was in that castle. She just smiled and nodded as she slept by me.
