A four letter word
Written down on paper
L . O . V . E
The pain that word carries
The heaviness, the hurt
An excuse for pain
Failure, Disappointment, Screw Up
All fall from their mouths
I'm sorry, I love you
As if it excuses those words
The ones they say
And fully mean
While that three word phrase
Acts like a bandaid
On a gushing wound
A facade
The yells and screams
Hiding behind a wall
Of "Love"
