Simply a heartless bitch, that's what I am
She called me that in a pain filled rage once
A loving mentor splits open a dam
In the mind, she took a different stance
Not truly, I am sorry, I love you
I love you, those three words lose more meaning
It's fixed, left with painful scars, I withdrew
To fix easy, it seems so demeaning
Incident forgotten a week later
Was the sorry said truly meant to heal
The pain grows greater, the peaceful traitor
Keep the scars from growing, make a raw deal
Now, I must become what she has since called
To protect from the pain that is age-old
