KUKUI HIGH SCHOOL, HONOLULU

The people in the stands cheer as Kono stands up making me shake my head laughing

"Aloha, football fans and welcome to the grudge match; the inter-island rivalry everyone's been waiting for: The Kapui Kings VS the P-Boys School." The announcer said over the PA.

"Yes!" I yelled as the kings take down someone.

Then one of the kings players is taken down.

"Oh! How'd you miss that facemask call, ref?! He only tried to gauge the kids eyes out! You suck!" Kono yelled as she stands up.

"I'm glad she's on our team." Steve said to Chin.

"No, she's just getting started." Chin said as Kono sits back down.

"What the hell was that?! Do you not know how to do your job?!" I yelled throwing my hands in the air standing up when the ref makes a bad call.

"I'm glad that she's on our team." Chin said and Steve chuckles

We continue watching the game.

"Sorry we're late." Danny said as he makes his way through the stands with Grace.

"Hey brah." Kono said.

"Nice hands brah." Chin said.

"Hey." I said

"Hey Gracie, I'm Steve. It's great to meet you finally. Your dad, he talks about you all the time." Steve said shaking hands with the girl.

"Hi Grace, I'm Faith, it's awesome to actually meet you. Steve's right, he never stops talking about you." I said laughing lightly.

"He talks about you and Steve a lot too." Grace said and everyone laughs.

"Oh he does?" I asked nervously trying to keep my voice normal and everyone laughs again.

"We, uh, we commiserate. It's a father-daughter thing." Danny said and I smile feeling my face turn red turning my attention back to the game as Kono introduces herself to Grace.

"Hi, I'm Kono." Kono said

"Hello." Grace said.

"And I'm uncle Chin." Chin said pointing to himself as Grace looks at him.

"Are you a football player?" Grace asked.

"I used to be. I used to play quarterback for that red team." Chin said.

"He was a legend too." Steve said.

"'Till I came along and shattered all his records." Steve whispered.

The game continues as Kono starts talking to Grace.

"That's a really pretty tennis outfit." Kono said.

"Yeah, I had to pick her up today at a country club." Danny said before covering Grace's ears.

"Step-Stan decided that she should start taking tennis lessons." Danny said.

"What's wrong with tennis Danny?" Steve asked.

"I'll tell you what's wrong with tennis. It can be played on a table which makes it an activity, not a sport. You throw the ball, I catch the ball that's a sport, it's my duty as a father to teach my daughter the difference." Danny said.

"Dad, I can still hear you." Grace said and I laugh.

"How can you be hungry? We ate an hour ago." Danny said
