There is radio transmissions and chatter as people get patched up.
Kono pulls back the cover that is laying across the dead victim.
"There's no ID on this victim. See if any of the other witnesses know him." " Kono said to one of the officers.
"Your a hell of a quarterback. What's your name?" Steve asked.
"Junior Satelli." The quaterback said.
"Junior, alright, you got lucky today. It's just a scratch." Steve said.
"Hey boss, Faith! Over here." Kono called.
"Your gonna be alright, kid." Steve said.
"Excuse me." He said as he walks away by heading over to Kono with me behind him
"This is one of our shooters. Do either of you recognize the art?" Kono asked showing us the tattoo.
"Son of a bitch." I said
"It's a 14K tattoo. This guy's a triad enforcer." Steve said.
"The other vic is Samoan. These guys are from two different gangs." Kono said as Steve pulls the cover back of the other victim.
"So what are we looking at here, a gang war?" Kono asked as Steve drops the cover.
"The triads and the Soamons have coexisted on this island for as long as I can remember. They never brought their wars into the public especially in front of their families." Steve said as Chin walks up to us
"You guys okay?" He asked holstering his weapon
"Yeah, okay. You?" Kono asked.
"Yeah. I lost my runner in the parking lot." Chin said before walking away.
"That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in my whole life. Violence follows me? I mean, how do you even come up with something like that? No what happened here has nothing to do with my job. In fact, it is just the opposite, okay. She is safe because I am a cop." Danny said as I share a look with Steve.
"Huh? You know, I can't, I can't even do this right now. She'll be there in 5 minutes an officers bringing her home. Yeah. Good-bye." Danny said hanging up the phone.
"Can't wait to meet your ex." Steve said.
"Yeah, you and Rachel can plan my demise. So what do we got?" Danny asked.
"Six friendlies wounded, two hostiles dead. Think it's a gang shooting. Triads and Samoans." I said crossing my arms
"Well, if this is a gang war the problem is there's only gonna be one winner." Danny said.
"Yeah. And the losers: whoever get in the way." Steve said before walking away.
I sigh looking away from Danny as he looks at me
MANOA VALLEY, HONOLULU
Third Person
Chin drives up to a house parking his bike as a dog barks and a woman speaks indistinctly.
He gets off his bike and starts for the front door as a baby starts crying.
A woman opens the door holding a toddler.
"What do you want?" She asked
"Where's Sid?" Chin asked.
"I haven't seen him in months." The woman said and Chin nods.
He looks at the little girl and smiles as she waves at him.
"She has your eyes." He said as the woman brings the little girl up her hip further.
