"KAKASHI SENSEI!!!" Naruto yelled. "Hey! Don't drag me like a rag doll! I can run just fine!" I whined. A few minuted ago, we witnessed Gaara killing two random henchmen. Luckily I managed to cover Nao's eyes right before the brutal killing. After that Naruto decided to try and intervene with Eboy's match and dragged me along.
Shikamaru and Nao weren't too far behind, catching up to us only a few seconds after we made it to Kakashi. "What is it Naruto?" Kakashi questioned, unsure of what his overly energetic student could possibly want this time.
"Sensei please! You just have to stop this match right away!" Naruto pleaded. "What?" Kakashi murmured. "The guy Sasuke is fighting is completely different than the rest of us! He's about as far from normal as you can get!" Naruto exhorted.
"Naruto, slow down! What are you trying to say?!" Ino mollified. "He thinks his point in life is to kill people...don't you see! If this continues, Sasuke will die!!" Naruto hollered.
"Panda-chan...wants to kill ducky?" I hugged Nao closely. "He won't, don't think too much over it, alright Nao? Gaara's not himself right now..." I whispered. "Ohh, panda-chan is in a d-daze? Is that how you say it?" I smiled at Nao's improvement in speech. He's so cute...he seems to have a thirst for knowledge. This is good, but it could become a bit of a problem in the future...his curious nature might just get me into some trouble... "Well, you could say he's in a daze I guess..." More like possessed, really. But Nao doesn't need to know that.
"You've gotta believe me!" Naruto continued to reason with Kakashi to stop Eboy and Gaara's match. Kakashi turned back to the fight, his expression lax. "Relax, no need to panic. You know, Sasuke and I weren't just goofing around. There's a reason we were so late getting here. You would know, wouldn't you Jennie?" I averted my eyes despite Kakashi not facing me. Dammit, why'd he have to drag me into this right now?!
"Huh, what's that mean sensei?" Pinky asked, clearly intrigued by his words. Meanwhile Naruto seemed to struggle following the meaning in his words. "Oh yeah, didn't you train with him for a while before going off with Naruto?" I gritted my teeth and sent a deadly glare towards Shikamaru. He may be smart but when it comes to social situations, he really can't follow anything...
"HUH?!" Pinky and Naruto yelled simultaneously. "J-Jennie, you mean you betrayed me for Kakashi?! How could you!" Naruto sulked, obviously jealous Kakashi had chosen me over him. "Ehehe, sorry Naruto. I just didn't want to stress you out or anything. If I had told you, that might have made your training harder," I apologized. True, it was a half-assed apology, but I just needed some type of excuse to avoid this situation. My social anxiety said 😬
"Sensei...you said that there was a good reason you were late. What were you doing?" Thank you Pinky. Because of you, I just avoided a social crisis.
"Huh, well, it's kind of a long story," Kakashi responded lazily. "Oh come on will you please do something?? This is no time for talking!!!" Naruto screeched. "You're right, so shut up and watch." Damn Kakashi, he really out here like this. Everyone else seemed surprised at Kakashi's sudden change of attitude towards Naruto. Normally he was chill, but when he snapped. 🤭
"Keep your eye on Sasuke, he's about to surprise you." Despite knowing what was about to go down, I decided to watch just for the fun of it. I mean, watching Naruto fights from behind a screen was one thing, but watching them in person was a whole other experience.
Lo and behold, Eboy was in the midst of creating chidori. Once created, he swung his arm to the side, leaving a dent where the chidori had touched the wall. Before he took off down the wall, this motherfucker somehow managed to find me in the crowd. He sent me a smirk, his eyes glinting with some sort of emotion of which I couldn't tell. And then, he shot off towards Gaara, chidori in hand.
