"Clay, table for two"
George and Dream stood up from the seated waiting area and followed the waitress to their booth. They chose to say across from one another and made their drink orders, opting out for water.
"So, what do you wanna talk about?" George asked, but didn't get a response. Dream was sitting there staring for what felt like minutes, but was only 30 seconds. George noticed, quickly becoming self conscious.
"Is there something on my face?" George asked finally catching Dreams attention. "No, sorry" he let out a breathy chuckle. "What were you staring at weirdo?" "You". This caught George off guard.
"Obviously, but why? Hair in my eyes?" He was truly confused. Dream reached over to George's face wiping underneath his eye. Taking his hand off of his cheek and revealing an eyelash on his thumb. "Make a wish, George". George then blew on the blondes finger making his wish.
"What did you wish for?" "I can't tell you, because then it won't come true dummy," George said with a smirk on his face. "Right right, well, what are you going to get to eat? I was thinking the alfredo or the mozzarella pizza look good." "So basic, Dream. I'm not too hungry right now, might just get a salad". "Oh and IM the basic one? How are you not hungry? We didn't eat during lunch break today. I'm starving." Dream said cocking a brow but quickly relaxed his face after seeing George with an unreadable expression.
"I had a big breakfast, and I have a small appetite, but if the salad doesn't fill me up, I know this guy who's a total simp for me. He'll give me a bite of his food," "Oh really? What's his name? I bet he's really handsome." Both boys went off into giggles concluding in silence as they finished looking over the menus.
Their waitress came back asking if they were ready. They placed their orders, Dream getting the pizza and George with a ceaser salad.
They were both sitting in another mind loss silence, one similar to the silent drive on their way here. Although neither were speaking, they were subconsciously pulled to one another. This could be proven by their thought processes, Dream staring at George and George taking in every detail of Dream's face, or by their linked legs underneath the table.
"You know, you're face is captivating," George said, quietly not 100% sure if he wanted Dream to hear. "Elaborate for me?" "Well, your a very handsome man, freckles, your yellow eyes easily to get lost in, your nose is a great shape, and you always have a slight smile. It's all fascinating" George began, but slowly started to regret what he just said.
"Hold on, back up, reverse." This made George nervous, he knew he should have kept his mouth shut. "My yellow eyes? I'm not trying to correct you or anything, but I think I should correct you. For the entire 21 years of my existence, my eyes have been green."
George was relieved Dream wasn't mad, "Oh, that's something I haven't told you. I'm actually colorblind. It's red green, I think it's called 'Protan' but I'm not sure". "How do you not know what type of colorblind you are?" Both boys laughed, Dream adding the occasional wheeze, and their meals arrived.
-
The two had finished their meals. George only finished around 3/4 of his salad, and although Dream was slightly worried, he let it go. Dream payed the bill after a small "argument" on who would pay. Dream won, but George payed the tip.
They made their way back to the car in silence. This time, it was a comfortable one where Dream's arm is wrapped around George's neck and George is closer than normal. They climb into their seats and begin the drive. Not even two minutes in, Dream has an idea.
"Hey, maybe wanna come back to my apartment? We don't have to work tomorrow and my friend and his boyfriend will be their. My other friend might come too" Dream shot George a quick smile before focusing back on the road. "Sure, that sounds like fun, but you'll have to drive me to get my car from the theater afterwards". "Sounds like a plan".
-
They arrived at Dream's apartment, "Ignore the size, it's all I can afford at the moment" Dream said as they walked through the door. "It's really cool, I like all of the yellow detailing", "Green" Dream said giving George a small wink.
They settled on the couch, soon after, people who George assumed were the friends Dream were talking about arrived. A tall-ish man with brunette fluffy hair, hands linked with an average height guy with a baseball cap. To the right of them a loud short man with a beanie and a big personality.
"AAAAAA, what's good Dreammm" "Hey, Quackity, Sap, Karl, this is George. Also known as "newbie", but only I can call him that". "George, this is Karl, Sapnap, and Quackity," "Nice to meet you guys," George said quietly, obviously intimidated by the strong personalities in the room.
"What are we going to do tonight?" Sapnap asked. "I was thinking a movie night? That new horror film came out last week and we haven't seen it. It's on Netflix," Dream said making his way into the kitchen to make popcorn.
Everyone seemed to be down, well everyone except for George, but he wasn't about to rain on everyone's parade.
-
Everyone settled on the couch, Quackity in the middle, Dream and George to his right and Sapnap and Karl cuddling to his left. The movie had started and it wasn't too bad yet. There was occasional scenes broadcasting blood or teeth, but nothing too scary yet.
That was until a huge jump-scare came across the television making George yelp. Not loud enough to bother everyone's experience, but loud enough Dream heard and wrapped his arm around his shoulder. George was shocked at first but subconsciously leaned in further the longer the movie went on.
Another jump-scare took over the screen and this time George hid his face near Dream's chest. "We don't have to keep watching George", Dream whispered into the brunettes ear, hopefully to make him more comfortable. "I don't want to make everyone stop" George said, he didn't want to keep watching, but he couldn't take the fear anymore.
"How about we go to my room. Maybe we can watch something else in there" Dream suggested and George followed with a nod. Dream stood up, taking George's hand in his leading him to his room.
They sat on the bed on opposite ends trying not to make the other uncomfortable. "What do you wanna watch, newbie?" "You know, you can stop calling me that, Clay" he emphasized the name, to hopefully get his point across but it didn't work.
"I'm getting tired, maybe I should get going," "George, it's pretty late, and everyone else is asleep on the couch, you could just stay the night if you wanted?" Dream suggested, trying not to seem too eager.
George thought over it for a few seconds before saying "I would, but I don't have anything to wear". George knew he was making up excuses at this point since he had slept in his work clothes the night before.
He was knocked out of his thoughts when a pair of black sweats and yellow, presumably green, hoodie landed in his lap. "No more excuses, newbie". George followed with a laugh before asking a way to the bathroom and changing.
They climbed into bed, facing away from each other. The tv in the living room still audible from their positions in the room. They both were tired, but neither could sleep, even after the 30 minutes of being in bed.
"George?"
"Dream?"
"Can you sleep?"
"No"
