Vinnie's POV

Stop that, I can feel your judgement from here and it is NOT nice.

Okay, maybe using the hype house's offer to abruptly interrupt Olivia's questioning was not the best decision. It did get the job done in distracting her, but now she had more questions, starting with-

"The fuck you mean Thomas asked you to join the hype house?!"

"I mean that he arranged to go to lunch with me, and then asked if I, Vincent Cole Hacker, wanted to join the hype house,"

"You are such a smart ass- what did you say then?"

"I just told him that I'd think about it,"

"Vinnie are you insane? Go for it!"

"I don't know, there's some doubts that I've been having,"

"Spill, I'm all ears," she pulled me onto the bed and sat down facing me with an expectant smile tugging on her lips.

"Obviously I know it's a great opportunity that would expand my following and business opportunities, not to mention the fact I'm quite good friends with most of them,"

"Is what's the problem?"

"Well... I'd have to leave the guys here, and to be honest without me fixing things, this house will be in ruins-

"Vinnie, what's the real reason you're hesitant?" Liv cocked her eyebrow at me in amusement at how I thought she wouldn't be able to see through my excuses.

"They- kinda have a bad rep, you know? Everyone's always making fun of them and saying they're a poster for "straight tiktok" not to mention people think anyone associated with them is cringe, basic or annoying,"

"So you think that joining will immediately make everyone turn on you and think you're not much better than them?" she finished off.

"Pretty much, I know it sounds really stupid and self centered but-

"No, I get it,"

"Wait, really?"

"On the one hand, it does come off as quite petty, an 18 year old boy scared to move into a luxurious multi million dollar mansion purely because he doesn't want to taint his reputation,"

"Okay, not gonna lie, this is making me feel worse,"

"Uh- I'm not your mother, my purpose is to tell you how it is, plus you didn't even let me finish," she sighed in exasperation.

"Sorry, carry on,"

"I also get where you're coming from, you don't want to be attached to any scandals or problems that could potentially come with the house- dude, I live with BRYCE HALL, do you know how stressful that shit can get?"

"Oh wow, I forgot about that,"

"When the boys offered to let me stay as a permanent member, that was my initial worry, and I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible but it still didn't work out, they haven't gotten into any scandals though,"

"Right, so things have been fine?"

"No, I still get hate to this day for joining the house,"

"Fuck- I'm even more confused than I was in the first place!" I threw my head on the pillow and stared at the ceiling in frustration. Suddenly, instead of staring at the white abyss, I came face to face with Olivia who was kneeling in between my legs and staring down at me with a smile.

"Vin, we're public figures, it doesn't matter where we go or who we hang out with, we're ALWAYS going to get some form of hate, that's why my point is you might as well enjoy what you're doing if it feels like the right thing,"

"But my supporters-

"Your real supporters will be happy that you're taking this kind of step forward in your career... but you need to stop living for people who don't know you personally and are holding you to a certain standard based on the version of you they've created in their head, there's no happiness in that, darling,"

Her words of wisdom sunk into my head with ease making me finally come to a decision in what I wanted to do.

"You'd make a great therapist, you know that?"

"Not the first time someone's told me that," she laughed then took both of my hands and pulled so I could sit up to look her in the eyes.

Those beautiful fucking eyes.

"You're gonna be okay Vin, I have your back," my heart began to beat faster as her pinky found mine and they interlocked in a silent promise.

"How did someone like you come into my life and start fixing things up?" I sighed.

"Some people were meant to find each other, I just know it," she smiled back.

"Take care of that girl and she'll take care of you, through thick and thin, you need each other, when I say your souls are entwined together, do not take that lightly"

Mrs Thompson's words spun around my head, things were starting to make sense now, not everything, but enough for me to realize the importance in everything she had said to me before we left the hospital.

"Liv, I have something really important to tell you that should probably know," I began cautiously.

"What's up? You sound really fucking nervous,"

"I'm in lo-

"You're in what?"

"I'm in luck! We are in luck, I never got to give you your Christmas present, here open it up," I pulled a white envelope out of my pocket and hurriedly gave it to her.

"You're acting super weir- HOLY SHIT VINNIE, ARE THESE WHAT I THINK THEY ARE?"

"Two tickets and backstage passes to see Kehlani in concert," I finished with a smile but also mentally kicking myself for not being able to tell her the truth.

"YOU'RE THE FUCKING BEST!" she screamed before knocking me over with a huge hug. "I can't believe you got me tickets to see her, when are we going?"

"Uh- we?" I asked surprised.

"Of course you're coming with me, there's no one else I'd rather go with,"

"Really?"

"I missed you, Vin," she smiled softly. "More than you'll ever understand,"

My heart melted as our foreheads touched before I replied with a borderline risky but honest answer.

"I can guarantee you that I can understand it because not being around you immediately made my world fall apart, I love y-

"VINNIE, DO YOU WA- oh sorry, my bad," Jordan walked in on us and left as quickly as he appeared.

"We- we should probably get going," Olivia giggled bashfully before getting off my lap. "Let's go home, Vin,"

Yep. It felt good to be back.
