A rising star

Olivia's POV

I woke up and rolled out of bed while groaning, there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning. Dragging my feet to the bathroom, my toothbrush was gripped in my hand as I made my way down to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

Girl, you look like a hot mess, I thought while my reflection grimaced back at me. I brushed my teeth and got in the shower to wash myself, then went back to my room to put on the clothes I picked out and studied myself in the mirror. I scrunched my freckle dashed nose as I examined the outfit I chose for non school uniform day.

My mum was always on about taking pride in my appearance and looking after myself so that's exactly what I did. My almond shaped hazel eyes were framed with perfectly groomed eyebrows and thick, long eyelashes. I carefully applied clear lip gloss to my plump pink lips which contrasted with my mocha skin and adjusted my black braids with brown highlights and hair jewellery into place. I'd gained a lil bit of chub on my belly due to staying at home for lockdown, but my figure stayed roughly the same.

"Olivia, can you come downstairs for breakfast in the next 5 minutes please, you can't be late for your first day back," I heard my mum yell.

"Coming mum!" I yelled back at her while going to grab my phone off of my bed to take it off the charger and airplane mode. Suddenly, my phone blew up with a bunch of messages and notifications!

"What the fuck?" I whispered to myself in confusion. I only ever got a couple of texts from my 3 really close friends. Everyone else who I spoke to only wanted to either shag me, be around me because we were strictly school friends, or snakes who wanted to take me down.

Ring ring

My phone began to rang before I could read any of the notifications or text messages that came up. Liza was calling me so I decided to pick up before investigating what exactly was going on.

"Hello?"

"Oh my gosh, Liv why haven't you been answering the phone? Are you okay? What's going on? How excited are you about this? What does this mean for you?"

"ELIZABETH ADAMS IF YOU DONT SLOW DOWN AND EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT IS GOING ON RIGHT NOW I WILL PERSONALLY WHIP YO ASS" I screamed into the phone.

"Oh right I forgot you leave your phone on airplane mode overnight, no wonder why you probably have no idea what's going on haha, sorry about that,"

"Liza, what's going on? Do you have any idea why my phone is blowing up with so many notifications?"

"Of course I do, Liv, you've gone viral!"

"I've gone WHAT????"

"You're number one trending on twitter and YouTube,"

"What do you mean?"

"That music video that you posted on YouTube two days ago during quarantine for your song gained a bunch of recognition, everyone's listening to it and if you look at Twitter, there's a bunch of celebrities that are even complimenting you on the fact that you managed to make a music video like that during quarantine!"

"Shut up, you're kidding me right?"

"Bitch would I joke about something like this, why else would your phone be blowing up like this?"

"Fair point"

"Open your instagram"

"Alrighty then" I quickly opened up my instagram to see that I had gained over two million followers overnight, and the number was rapidly increasing.

"Holy shi-

"OLIVIA I WANT YOU DOWNSTAIRS NOW" I heard my mother scream again.

"I have to go and eat, I'll be at school in 15 minutes, wait for me," I hung up the phone quickly and ran downstairs to grab some breakfast.

Noah's POV

"Make sure to say goodnight to Emma for me, Noah" Bryce smirked at me.

"Dude, we're just friends, nothing more, nothing less, she's not even into me like that," I replied with a sigh.

"Bro, are you dense? She's been wanting to get in your pants since day one" he laughed

"That's not what I want Bryce, I want a girl who wants me for more than just sex or fame, she has to like me for who I really am, not just how the rest of the world sees me "

"Yeah whatever, miss me with that soppy shit dude, have you seen that girl from England who's been trending? She literally shot a music video in lockdown by herself, plus she's smoking hot,"

"You're such a romantic, Bryce," I rolled my eyes at him sarcastically.

"Just check it out, stupid, goodnight!" Bryce slammed the door shut, leaving me in my room alone. I quickly went on my Twitter and saw the name Olivia trending and Everybody Business at number 2. I immediately assumed this was the music video that everyone was talking about and clicked on the link to watch it.

A/N: Everybody business is the song that is linked above at the beginning of the chapter. Try and envision it instead of it being Kehlani, the description I used for Olivia's character, who is 16 in this chapter. I also highly recommend you listen to the song as well as the rest of the album and the music videos that came with it, Kehlani is an incredible artist and I think that her album was one of the best from this year, not to mention the fact she directed these videos by herself due to quarantine, which is what gave me the idea.

I watch the music video in awe and was captivated by Olivia's voice as well as her undeniable beauty. She was stunning, and the fact she had managed to film and edit a music video like that all by herself was incredible,  but there was something else about her that immediately drew me to her, but I couldn't put my finger on it, which really frustrated me.

"Who is this girl?" I whispered to myself. I had to find out who she was, whatever it took.
