Asuna's POV:

It was a few weeks after Kirito and I were discharged from the hospital. We had planned a date to walk around the city. I don't remember the 200 years we spent together, I still felt the months we were apart.

When Kirito came back, he was like a different person. To him, 2 years had gone by. He had this new maturity to his face, he grew taller and his voice grew deeper. He was the same yet so different. Listening to Ronnie, Alice, and Liena talk about how much he had cared for them so personally made me think about how I had fallen behind in Kirito's heart. He didn't even mention he had a girlfriend and great friends or family. After remembering everything, he never even brought up my name...

Come to think of it, every time a new girl enters his life, they have no clue who I am or what my relationship to him is...

I got off the subway to continue my walk to Kirito's house, which, after the ride, isn't so far away. As I make my way to his door, I get nervous jitters. I'm so excited to see him!

I knock on the door and look at my shoes, waiting for him to open up. A few seconds later the door opens. I jet my face up to greet Kirito... except it's not Kirito.

Alice?

I stood confused. Why was she here so early?

"Yes?" Alice states deeply.

"Ummm. Is Kirito home? We have plans?"

"Kirito will be out shortly," she says blankly and tries to shut the door on me.

"Uhhh..." I say slowly opening the door back up to her straight face.

"Yes?" she states again.

"... M-May I ask what you're doing here?"

Alice blinks twice as if she's computing my question.

"I live here, why wouldn't I be here?"

I'm in shock. No one told me Alice would be staying with Kirito.

"Oh! Mrs. Kirigaya welcomed you." I said that assumingly to get an answer from her.

"No. Kirito welcomed me himself. I was shipped here."

"Ok, Alice. Thank you for keeping Asuna company. Sorry for the wait, Asuna. Ready to go?" Kirito interjected out of nowhere.

"BROTHER?? ARE YOU FORGETTING SOMETHING???" Suguha yelled from upstairs.

"SHOOT! I'll be right back, Asuna". Kirito rushed back upstairs. Alice and I were confronted with each other again.

"Soooo... How did Kirito invite you over?" the fact that she's been living here is really peaking my interest. Kirito didn't say a word about this.

"From my memory", I'm assuming she's talking about her actual database that is her brain as a humanoid, "I came out of the box before he welcomed me. Kirito showed me around his home. We trained in the dojo, then talked to each other about the real world after I fell on top of him. He told me that I was welcome to stay and that he would do anything to save my world. In between our embrace, he told me that I did mean something to him, I was his love and his hope for a brighter future. Those are the important details I recollect from the beginning of my stay here. I power off and charge in his room. He powers me on, then Suguha helps me get ready for the day in her room". Alice finished opening her eyes back up. I'm lost for words at this intimate exchange she just described.

What hurts is that they were this close, Alice has made it clear she's in love with him. It's as if he's indulging her... I can't get jealous of a robot woman, right? But then again, with my precious Yui in mind... Kirito didn't separate beings. He could love you regardless if you were real or not, as long as you had a soul. And after all this time apart, his feelings have probably changed.

"Ok Ok, I'm ready to go!" Kirito says out of breath. Sugu joins all of us at the door.

"Have fun you two!" Sugu says sweetly with a big smile. Which cheered me up.

"Be home for dinner" Alice says while shutting the door behind Kirito.

I did not like how this situation made me feel. And it was hard not to keep a sour face the whole walk.

Kirito spouted about his plan for the Underworld. He mentioned how Eugeo obligated him to take care of Alice, and after all that Alice has done for him, the least he could do was accustom her to the real world.

I couldn't stay mad after that. I guess felt extremely alone and left out. Making up all the time we lost should fix that. Should...
