Asuna's POV:

I let a day pass before I spoke with Kirito. He had texted me and called me too many times on Sunday. I honestly needed a break. A day to put together how I feel and what I wanted to say. Besides, the school was a better setting, we could focus on other things afterward if the talk didn't go as planned.

While I grabbed my bag, nervously thinking ahead about the talk, a flashback of the fight from a couple of days ago wouldn't escape me...

*Flash Back in Asuna's POV*

Alice's arms were visibly getting heavier. I knew she couldn't withstand her swings for much longer. Kirito couldn't see as he was busy looking through the system. I, in the back, watched carefully. I didn't want to be around Kirito, besides he could handle this fight without me honestly for the most part...

The dragon creature wagged its tail, not visible to Alice. He was going to swing! I jumped off the rock platform I was on and ran at flash speed. My legs couldn't stop the momentum, I bodied Alice's figure. I sent her flying across the field in a cloud of dust. It wasn't to hurt her, it was to protect her. I knew if she got injured, she couldn't log out the same way I could.

While I faced the dark beast, I heard a voice. As I drew my sword I heard the voice scream again. "ALICEEEEE".

Kirito? I froze for a second, confused why his voice was getting farther away. He was available and was helping her, not me. Un. Be. Lievable.

Still, in a cloud of dust, I did my best to pinpoint where the tail was on this thing. The second I hesitated, I saw stars. I didn't even know I was hit until I felt the burn spread across my body. My vision blurred and I was sure I was going to die. They said the whip of this monster's tail was lethal, and they were right. My HP depleted halfway. I wanted to stop. But if anyone should risk their lives killing the dragon, it should be me because I've done the least amount of work in the fight thus far. I used my rapier to take shots at the belly of the beast. Swing after swing after swing. I rested on my leg again, feeling more cold blood soak my clothes, it was getting harder to breathe. My HP now less than halfway depleted was causing me to feel faint. I then felt my legs give up as if a baseball bat was taken to the back of my knees.

I blacked out. A familiar voice called to me. "You are a noble swordswoman, GET UP! GET UP ASUNA. DON'T GIVE UP NOW". It was Yukki. For a brief moment, no pain or worry could be felt. I had been enlightened.

*End of Flashback*

I don't remember what happened after I blacked out. But the thing I can't forget is Kirito running to a perfectly fine Alice in battle. He's never left me to fight on my own up until now. At that moment, I felt the few specks of trust in our partnership fade. That's what I want to talk to him about. That Kirito and I, at the end of the day, are partners who had each other's back first. We needed our trust back.

Walking to school, I felt better knowing my problems were soon to be solved. Down the hallway of this survivor's school, I heard Silica and Liz close to my locker sharing gossip.

"Yeah. I just can't believe he would ask such a thing. I mean, we all have feelings for him but his loyalty for Asuna was never questioned all this time" Liz pondered.

I froze, terrified of why I, Kirito, and loyalty were in conversation.

"Well, that's not all..." Silica said slowly.

"TELL ME NOW" Liz gasped.

"Ok so... I logged in to ALO earlier today to feed Pina. That's when I heard Yui crying"

I gripped my locker door, burying my head in further and listening closer.

"Mhmm, go on go on!" Liz urged.

"I asked her what was wrong and she said her Mommy and Daddy won't be together anymore".

"Why would she say that?! Did someone tell her that? DID KIRITO TELL HER THAT?!"

"Hold onnn. Jeez, let me finish. I asked her what gave her that idea and she said It was a secret. But I convinced her it'd be just between her and me. If I tell you, you have to SWEAR not to open up your big mouth" Silica teased. My heart pounded harder with each second gone by.

"Common, tell me!"

"She said... that Daddy cheated on Mommy and she's sure Asuna won't forgive him".

"YOU'RE LYING!".

"SHHHHH KEEP IT DOWN LIZ!".

Tears dripped from my eyes. I held in a sniffle to continue listening.

"And get this..." Silica continued in a quieter hush, "He kissed Alice while Yui was still in his pocket".

"My. GOD." Liz said in clear disbelief and dragged Silica away to class.

I couldn't fathom what I had just heard. My boyfriend whom I entrusted my life, cheated on me after all these years. I was furious. I was heartbroken. I ran to the roof of the building, I wasn't going to class today...
