Asuna's POV:

I think crushed is the word I'm looking for. Crushed because out of all the girls, Asada was the one I was looking forward to becoming closer with. Crushed because she told she didn't like him like that. Crushed because I know that feeling changed and I let Kirito walk right out of my life.

I needed to just DO something. I graduated from school and I wasn't in college yet so I had no homework. I took off work to be here for a week so I couldn't work. I couldn't go onto ALO, it would remind me that Kirito and I are married there. I didn't have the balls to tell Yui that her parents were officially divorced.

I walked into my house with my eyes puffy.

"Ah Ah! Not so fast. What's wrong, baby cakes?" I thought my dad wasn't going to be home til tomorrow.

"Aren't you supposed to be gone?" I asked not in a sassy way, but out of genuine curiosity.

"Your mother is coming back tomorrow, I'm here today. Now, are you going to tell me why you've been crying?". He pulled me into a fatherly hold. One I didn't know I needed.

"Kirito is going to marry someone else..."

I too felt my dad's heartbeat stop for a second.

"He broke up with you? Is he insane?!"

"That's the thing, Papa. I allowed him to." I looked up at my father. His eyes scrambled for words to say.

"Umm. Why?" is all he could come up with.

"I thought I was doing the right thing. What do you do when the right thing hurts to do?"

"I don't know. You gotta let it hurt, you gotta push ahead.". That was the advice I needed to hear, it's not what I wanted though. That was my dad for you, brutally honest.

"Ok. I'm going to my room now." I pushed him away. He gave me a few pats on my back before turning back to unpacking his things.

Oooof. I missed home. There was nothing to do still.

I looked at my Amusphere and had an idea.

"LINK START"

This was the first time I had been in this game without Kirito here.

I was in the Underworld alone making my way to the academy where most of the knights were.

"WAAA! Oh goodness you scared me. Hello, your majesty". Ronnie wore a sugary grin.

"Your majesty?" I was confused. "Ronnie, you can call me Asuna. It's okay, I'm not Goddess Stacia."

"Sorry. It's a habit. Is there anything I can do for you?"

"Is there something I can do for YOU? I'm looking to help out other people today, I have nothing else to do."

"Interesting.". She put a finger to her lips to think hard about my request. "Sortiliena is training a few apprentices, maybe you could help with your sword skill?".

"Thank you, Ronnie!" finally I could distract myself.

"You're welcome, your majesty". Welp. That went out the window.

I was already on my way to the academy so it's a good thing I didn't waste much time.

I knocked gently on the arena doors.

"Liena? I'm sorry, I don't mean to interrupt..."

The woman had withdrawn her attention from the two students sparing each other.

"That's enough for today, you are excused.". She dismissed the two kids and walked toward me, also in a chipper mood suddenly. That sucked because I came here to help her with them. "How can I serve you, your highness."
