"Where did you find this kid? And you said he's in his late teens, even with how small he is?" the man, Dr. Bee, asked while jotting down some notes on a paper pinned to a clipboard. Currently, Milly was icing Ajax's belly for him after apologizing profusely for letting her hormones get to her.

"He just popped up suddenly at our borders. Michael sniffed it out and called everyone and he tried to run... sort of. Went to the grocer of all places and we easily cornered him and now here we are," Ajax explained, groaning as Milly adjusted the ice for him.

"You forgot the hunter men who tried taking him away," Milly said helpfully, Dr. Bee poking Mason in the side with the end of his pen who tried to wiggle away from it but the bed was rounded so he kept sliding toward the middle whenever he moved. "In human form, he has a pretty bad fever thanks to somebody here which is, initially, why we came here," Milly said, eyeing Ajax for a moment with a light glare, before looking worriedly at Mason.

"Fever caused by alpha command? That'll go away over night with proper rest and proper water and food. This! This is strange and new and fascinating," Mr. Bee said and carefully picked Mason up with two hands like a baby; hands carefully gripping under his armpits with his front paws up in the air while his back legs dangled along with his tail.

"This isn't exactly comfortable," Mason grumbled in his mind, wiggling around until the doctor set him back on the bed and started scribbling more on his clipboard.

"Should we have him shift so we can talk to him? Kind of feel bad that we're talking about him like this," Milly mumbled, watching Mason try to flee from Dr. Bee's pen he was using to poke and prod at him even as his paws slipped out from under him.

"Trust me, he's actually safer the way he is. He's so small his rouge stench isn't as bad and I don't want to kill him presently. Plus, if his fevers so bad, it might be better if he just sleeps through the night as is," Ajax commented, placing the ice pack on the little bed as he stood next to the table it was sitting on. Mason yelped loudly when his bum accidentally touched it and quickly scrambled to the other end of the bed until Ajax carefully scooped him up into his hands.

"I guess you have a point but... why won't you let me hold him?" Milly questioned with a furrowed brow as she reached for Mason only for him to be pulled, lifted, or lowered from her hands which was starting to make Mason motion sick until he was finally placed against Ajax's chest and held there by a hand.

"Sweetie, I can barely stand the fact that he's even within ten feet of you. Don't push his luck for him," Ajax said with a wide grin that didn't quite meet his infuriated eyes that twitched and flashed red when she tried to reach for Mason again.

"Oh all right. He's still staying in the pack house," Milly grumbled, rubbing her belly a little and suddenly started sniffing the air. "Do you smell gravy? Oh! That's be really good on mashed potatoes with bits of bacon..." Milly was still talking but she was out the door and gone before either man could even speak up.

"If you just so happen to forget to bring the young pup with you and leave him for study, I could vouch for you..." Dr. Bee started and let the idea hang which Ajax did seem almost tempted to take him up on but let out a sigh.

"I'll leave him with you while I track down Milly and maybe even while I try to feed her whatever she's craving. I'll let you know when I'm heading over," Ajax said and gently let Mason slip from his fingers into Dr. Bee's cupped hands.

"Gotcha though I demanded you bring him tomorrow too for study," Dr. Bee said and was completely oblivious to Ajax's questionable gaze toward him but let it go with an amused chuckle before hurrying from the room after his mate. "If I do anything that hurts you, I want you to quietly bark twice for me," Dr. Bee said carefully while looking down at the small black fur ball in his hands who eyes him carefully.
