"I'm horrible," Mason sobbed, his head in Milly's lap while sitting at her feet by her bed.
"No you are not. Don't say that about yourself," Milly ordered, gently smacking the top of Mason's head as if scolding him, but she had a gentle smile on her face and looked rather sleepy.
Downstairs, Ajax was talking to Henry and wouldn't let anyone else come down into the living room. Anyone who came home were sent immediately to their rooms and Ajax ordered everyone not to eavesdrop onto their conversation. He didn't seem mad, just like Milly, but Mason still felt like he might vomit at any second with the feeling like he was counting down the seconds until he'd be punished for what he had done.
"I revealed myself in front of a human," Mason sobbed, hiccupping and sniffling while Milly tried to soothe him by running her hands through his red hair and humming a song he didn't know.
"It happens. More often then you might think, actually, like when one of us has a mate that was born human," Milly said, Mason looking up in surprise.
"You do? I thought it was meant to be kept a secret so the humans didn't wage war on our kid and all that," Mason said, shocked.
"In our pack, we help that pack member any way we can like protecting their mate when they cannot. The hardest part is when we tell the human's family because some don't react in... the best of ways. It depends on what the human wants to do but we let the human's family know we would never hurt anyone without provocation, what we do, and make sure they understand our way of life. That's why we aren't mad, mostly because it's not the first time. How do you think the story of Bigfoot got started? Someone saw a werewolf shifting in half form up in Canada which is where the myth came to be. Same with the yeti in northern India," Milly said with a giggle, Mason chuckling himself and honestly did feel a little bit better as he smiled up at her. "You'll be fine and have nothing to worry about. If anything, Henry has to worry about Ajax not threatening him within an inch of his life if he doesn't keep his mouth shut about us and all that," Milly said with a sigh, looking towards the door but the whole house was soundproof so everyone could have some privacy without hearing others around them.
"Will Ajax... hurt Henry if he tells people about us?" Mason asked, feeling guilty if he was the cause of Henry's demise all because he shifted in front of him.
"No..." Milly said, although it sounded more like a question as they both looked over and stared at the door. Then they both jumped as it opened and Ajax slipped through with Henry behind him.
"Everything okay?" Milly asked, Mason perking up and looking over Henry as if checking for injuries who looked a little excited as he saw Mason again.
"Everything's fine. He's honestly just curious about us, like most humans are," Ajax said with a shrug, coming over to sit next to his mate and kissed her on the cheek who growled low in her throat with a hungry look in her eye.
"Can you shift again?" Henry asked Mason, dropping onto his knees next to the boy who jumped a little in surprise and flushed a little.
"Well..."
"In your room, please," Milly ordered, urging Mason to his feet while she pulled Ajax's hand trying to get him to lay down on the bed.
"Right now?" Ajax squeaked, blushing a little bit and glancing toward the two boys who were gawking up at them with twin flushed faces.
"Bye!" Mason squeaked and grabbed onto Henry's arm, dragging him from the room who didn't resist but was even pushing Mason forward who struggled with the door a little bit.
"Where were we?" Milly asked with a big grin, climbing onto Ajax's lap and pulled his face into hers for a sweet, long, kiss which had Ajax groaning knowing he couldn't be too rough with her in her condition.
