A few hours after Izuku came to see me, I was discharged from the hospital. Toshinori had come back as promised, and as soon as the doctor's gave me the okay to leave, we went to visit Shouta.
"I'll wait out here for you to give you two some privacy," Toshinori said.
I curtly nodded and entered Shouta's hospital room, gasping as soon as I laid eyes on him.
He was wrapped up from head to toe in bandages, his arms and legs were raised above him. My heart sank at the sight and I felt a tear roll down my cheek.
Using my crutch, I slowly hobbled over to his side of the bed and sat down in the chair at his bedside.
The hero slowly opened his eyes and glanced over at me, "Y/N?" He groaned.
"Hey," I smiled softly at him.
"I'm so glad you're okay... I thought I was going to lose you," he said.
"I thought I was going to lose you too, that Nomu bastard really gave you a harsh beating," I said with a frown.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked.
"A bit sore. The doctor's have given me the all clear to leave the hospital, and Toshinori has offered me a place at his to stay while I finish my recovery as he doesn't like the idea of me struggling to get to my apartment if the elevator stops working, plus he said he has a guest room on the ground floor of his place," I explained.
"I'm relieved to know that you're going to be in good hands. He will definitely look after you," Shouta smiled.
I nodded and hummed in agreement before frowning slightly, "I feel bad though... I wasn't able to save you, and when I tried to help Toshinori, I only got myself even more injured in the process. I wasn't able to help anyone, if anything, I just got in the way. I didn't even listen when I was told to stay put, I fought those villains without a second thought," I looked down at my lap as a tear rolled down my cheek.
"Don't be so hard on yourself. You did what you thought was best. You didn't want me going into that fight by myself. You wanted to protect everyone. Even if you didn't become a pro hero like Toshinori and myself, what you did was heroic." Shouta tried to reassure me. I looked back up at Shouta with tear filled eyes, and he gave me a sympathetic smile before adding, "Things could have turned out a lot worse if you didn't fight by my side. We were able to take down a lot of those villains together. You even saved me from that blue haired guy when he was starting to destroy my elbow."
"But I didn't save you from the Nomu," I pointed out, "If I had saved you from it, you wouldn't be in this state."
"I would rather it be me in this state than you," he argued, "You did everything you could, and I am thankful."
"Shouta..." I whispered his name softly.
"Y/N... There's something I want you to do for me," he said.
I raised an eyebrow, "What is it?"
"Come a bit closer," he instructed me.
I shuffled closer to his bed, "This close enough?" I asked.
"No, come closer, sit on the edge of the bed if you have to," he said.
I used my crutch to push myself off the chair and perch myself on the edge of Shouta's bed, "Better?"
"No, I need you to come closer."
"Shouta, if I got any closer, I'd be on top of you," I laughed.
"Then lean in closer," he rolled his eyes.
I leaned closer to him, our faces only a few inches apart, "Is this close enough?"
