I woke up the next morning to the other side of the bed being empty.
I shot up and looked around, thinking I had dreamt that the events of last night. Suddenly my bedroom door creaked open to reveal Toshinori with a cup of what I assumed to be coffee in his hand.
"Ah, you're awake," he smiled as he stepped into my bedroom and walked around to the side of the bed I was on, placing the cup on the night stand.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Just gone 10. I didn't want to wake you when I woke up, so I left you in bed to catch up on some much-needed sleep," he explained.
"It's gone past 10? I didn't realise. I'm sorry if you were waiting around for long," I apologised.
"No need to apologise, I'd rather you be fully rested than tired," he reassured me, "Anyway, I've made you some coffee, I hope it's how you like it," he said, nodding over to the coffee he had placed on the night stand.
"Thanks," I smiled, turning slightly and taking the cup from the night stand, "How did you know I was waking up?" I asked as I took a sip of the steaming liquid, savouring the taste. The coffee was delicious, better than how I make it, considering it was Toshinori's first time making me coffee.
"When I came to check on you, you were stirring in your sleep, so I assumed that was you waking up, so that's when I went to make you some coffee," he explained, adding, "How is it?"
"It's delicious. I think I might need to hire you are my person coffee maker," I giggled.
Toshinori chuckled, "I'm glad it's to your liking. Would you like some breakfast?" He offered.
"You've made breakfast?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I was just about to plate it up, I hope you don't mind," he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Not at all," I smiled, "I did say make yourself at home. Nice to wake up and have breakfast made for a change," I giggled.
Toshinori chuckled softly, "Okay. I'll go and plate up breakfast whilst you get ready."
I nodded and hummed in response as Toshinori left the bedroom, closing the door behind him.
Smiling to myself, I took another sip of my coffee before placing it back on the night stand and climbed out of bed, stretching my arms over my head.
I decided I would jump in the shower after breakfast so for the time being, I grabbed my silk robe and pulled it on, tying it up at the front. Grabbing my coffee from my night stand, I turned and made my way out of the bedroom.
The moment I stepped into the lounge, I was hit with the mouth watering smell of bacon, eggs, sausage and beans along with freshly made toast.
I walked into the kitchen to see Toshinori plating up breakfast and smiled, "Smells good," I commented.
Toshinori glanced over at me and smiled, "Let's hope it tastes as good as it smells," he joked as he finished dishing up the food and handed me my plate with a knife and fork, "Just gonna finish buttering the toast and I'll bring it in for you."
"Thanks," I smiled as I turned and left the kitchen. I took a seat on the couch, placing my coffee onto the coffee table before digging into my breakfast, and just like the coffee, it was delicious.
Toshinori came into the lounge and sat beside me, placing a plate of toast on the coffee table and started eating his breakfast. As I chewed on some bacon, I grabbed a slice of toast from the plate on the table and dunked it into the remaining bean sauce.
