Chapter Three - The First Events

As the Sports Festival began, students of the UA and the Jedi Academy gathered for the first event. It would be a three part obstacle course in which students from both classes would compete for a spot in the next round. The Jedi Initiates of Class 001 prepared for the challenges ahead.

Katooni: Whatever happens, may the Force be with us all.

Petro: May the best Jedi win!

Without warning, the event began. As everyone rushed out, Todoroki used his Ice Quirk to freeze most of the students where they stood. Most of the Jedi Initiates along with a few UA students manage to avoid the attack.

Gungi: <That was crazy!>

Byph: That UA student must be strong!

Both Jedi Initiates and UA students encountered the first obstacle. They soon found themselves attacked by Villain Bots. 

Petro: This is where the fun begins! 

Without hesitation, Petro activated his Lightsaber and carved a path through the robots, destroying any robots that crossed his path. The rest of Class 001 joined Petro as they moved forward into the next obstacle with Jedi Initiate Class 002 trailing behind them. The next obstacle consisted of a deep canyon that could only be crossed by a tight rope. Ganodi turned around to see both Jedi Initiates and UA Students closing in on them. 

Ganodi: We got company!

Zatt: We have to jump! 

Using the Force, the Jedi Initiates of Class 001 leaped to the other side of the canyon. Just as they reached the other side, several UA and Jedi students began to catch up. 

Petro: Don't stop now!

With that, they reached the third and final obstacle. What they saw was a seemingly empty field. 

Zatt: Something's not right. There has to be something more to this. 

Zatt picked up a stone and throws it onto the field. As the stone hits the ground, it detonates a mine, revealing it to be a mine field. 

Ganodi: A mine field?! That's a little excessive! 

Katooni: There's no other choice! We have to cross this field! 

As the Jedi Initiates of Class 001 began to cross the minefield, they began to slowly lose ground as both Jedi Initiates and UA students began to reach the finish line. 

Ganodi: At this rate, we'll never finish! 

Petro: Then we'll just have to get creative!

Petro then uses the Force to lift one of the mines off the ground. He then tosses it to the area in front of himself and his classmates. As the mine touches the ground, it creates a chain reaction of explosions which not only clears up the mines in front of them, but knocks down a few of the other contestants. Seizing the opportunity, the Jedi Initiates used the Force to speed right to the finish. As they finished in the top 20, they saw that Jaden Korr and Kalifa had finished before them while the rest of Class 002 lagged behind. 

Rosh: Aw man! I thought I'd at least catch up! 

Jaden: It's all right, Rosh. You and the others are still in this. 

Katooni: You all did a good job. 

Kalifa: The Sports Festival is not over yet. You may have gotten this far, but this is where your luck ends. 

Petro: Oh really? Somehow I'm not threatened by that. 

It was clear that there was animosity between Petro and Kalifa. Katooni and Jaden stepped in to try and calm the situation. Suddenly, Midnight cracked her whip. 

Midnight: All right everyone! The UA Students shall report to me for the next event! The Jedi Initiates shall report to Master Cin Drallig! Now get moving!

With that, the Jedi Initiates who passed the first event reported to Master Cin Drallig. 

Cin Drallig: Initiates! You have all done well to get this far. But things will only get harder from here. With some assistance from Cementoss of UA, we have prepared a challenge fitting for the Sports Festival. 

Cin Drallig then directs the attention of the Jedi Initiates to a small building similar to the Jedi Academy.

Cin Drallig: Much like the next event that the UA students will face, this event will be a team based event. All teams shall be based on your class. As for the event itself, inside this building are flags scattered inside. Your objective is to acquire as many flags as possible. Each flag is worth one point. As you collect flags, other teams may attempt to take them. Each team must work together to succeed. Any team who falls below the minimum point threshold will not advance into the final event. Unsanctioned attacks will result in instant disqualification for the offender and the team. You will have thirty minutes to acquire as many flags as possible. May the Force be with you all. 

As Cin Drallig explained the rules for the second event, the Jedi Initiates of Class 001 prepared themselves for the event.

Katooni: If we're going to advance to the final round, then we need to work together. I have faith that we will succeed.

Petro: Let's go out there and kick some butt!

Katooni: Once the event starts, stick together. If what Kyle Katarn said is correct, then everyone is going to be gunning for us. 

With that, the Jedi Initiates were ready for the next event. As all Jedi Initiate classes prepared themselves for the next event, Cin Drallig began the event. The Jedi Master would watch intently as all remaining Jedi Initiates would compete to advance to the final round of the Sports Festival.
