Chapter Six - Petro VS Kalifa

As the Sports Festival continued, Petro and Kalifa made their way to the arena where the crow cheered for them. Petro and Kalifa stared each other down as Present Mic announces the fight.

Present Mic(Intercom): HERE'S OUR NEXT FIGHT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! OUR FIRST FIGHTER HAILS FROM THE JEDI ACADEMY'S TOP CLASS! REPRESENTING CLASS 001, PETRO! AND HIS OPPONENT HAILS FROM CLASS 002! GIVE IT UP FOR KALIFA!

As the crowd cheered, Petro and Kalifa kept their eyes one another. In this duel, both had something to prove. For Kalifa, this was her chance to knock Class 001 off it's pedestal as the top class of the Jedi Academy. For Petro, he wanted to prove that he and his classmates deserved to be here. After a moment of silence between the two, Present Mic speaks.

Present Mic(Intercom): CLASH!

As soon as Present Mic makes the announcement, Petro and Kalifa reached for their Lightsabers and charged at one another. When they got close to one another, they both clashed blades. As they pushed against one another, Kalifa made the first move by using Force Push to blast him away. As Kalifa went for an overhead strike, Petro gets back on his feet and blocks Kalifa's attacks. The two then begin attacking each other with a series of fast paced acrobatic attacks. The two moved in such a speed that they appeared to be two blurs of color clashing at one another. At the stands, the students of Class 001 and Class 002 watch the fight with great interest. 

Ganodi: Whoa! Look at them go! They're really going at it!

Rosh: I hope Petro's fast on his feet. I'm sure Kalifa won't let up. 

Jaden: Let's just hope Kalifa doesn't get carried away.

Katooni: Why do you say it like that?

Jaden: Because Kalifa wants nothing more than to knock off your class down a peg or two. 

Zatt: But why? We did nothing to her. 

Jaden: It's because your class is at the top. She feels that she has to prove that she's better than you. Kyle's been trying to teach her otherwise, but she's stubborn. 

As Jaden said this, Katooni and the other initiates of Class 001 couldn't help but notice the similarities between Petro and Kalifa. In his own way, Petro felt as if he had something to prove. Katooni looked upon the fight with concern for Petro's wellbeing. Meanwhile back at the fight, Petro and Kalifa continued to attack one another with acrobatic attacks. When they locked blades, Kalifa pressed the attack. 

Kalifa: I'm taking you down! I'll put your entire class in it's place!

Petro: Not a chance! 

Petro then breaks the lock and presses the attack on Kalifa. Kalifa was able to parry most of Petro's strikes. She then kicks Petro away. As she lunges at him, Petro gets back to his feet and kicks Kalifa in the face. Kalifa quickly regains her composure and retaliates by sidestepping and kicking Petro in the chest. Kalifa then goes for an overhead strike, but Petro blocks it with his Lightsaber. As Petro kicks Kalifa away, the two locked blades once more. The fight eventually turns to a stalemate in which neither Petro and Kalifa were able to gain the advantage over the other. Both were nearly exhausted. 

Kalifa: Give...up....

Petro: Not...happening....

Kalifa: I'm taking you down! One way or another!

Petro: Guess that makes both of us!

Petro and Kalifa once more ignited the duel as they clashed Lightsabers. Both were relentless in their assault. Both were determined to prove themselves not only to their classmates, but to themselves. Despite their bodies reaching their limits, Petro and Kalifa showed no signs of giving up.

Kalifa: Why...won't you give up?! 

Petro: Because I've got something to prove!

Kalifa: What do you have to prove?! You have everything! You're in the top class of the Jedi Academy?!

Petro: Clearly you don't get it. You think I don't deserve to be where I'm at. Well guess what? I worked hard to get this point just as you did. You just see me for the class I'm in. I'm more than ready to prove you I'm not here just cause I got lucky enough to get put in the top class. I'm going to show you why I deserve to be here!

With a fire light inside him, Petro attacked with Kalifa with everything he had. In that moment, Petro was able to put Kalifa on the defense. As Kalifa attempts to push the attack, she was unable too as Petro kept attacking her with a relentless attack. Soon enough, Petro pressed the attack to the point where he knocked Kalifa's Lightsaber out of her hands. As she reached for her Lightsaber, Petro aims his Lightsaber down at her. Kalifa was in shock. 

Petro: Now am I good enough for you?

Kalifa was at a loss of words. She thought she would beat Petro without much effort. But she had been proven wrong. In that moment, Kalifa knew that she was beat.

Kalifa: I.....I forfeit. 

As Kalifa forfeits, Midnight announces the results. 

Midnight: PETRO OF CLASS 001 WINS BY FORFEIT!

Present Mic(Intercom): WHAT A FIGHT! WHAT A FIGHT! AND JUST LIKE THAT, PETRO ADVANCES TO THE NEXT ROUND! 

As the crowd cheers for Petro, Kalifa expects Petro to gloat about his victory over her. But in an unexpected move, Petro reaches out to Kalifa. After a moment, Kalifa grabs Petro's hand and allows him to help her up. In that moment, Petro and Kalifa had found a newfound respect for one another, laying the groundwork for a much more friendly relationship between the two classes.
