My fingers from his forehead, slid down to his pale cheeks. I pretended to brush the invisible dirt on his porcelain skin. I asked, "Really?"

Like a dog wagging his tail to his master, he answered: "I don't care if you lied to me."

Li Han met my gaze and his tender eyes, his lips giving in to a smile. He took my hand from his chin; warm fingers touched mine and a palm slid under, forcing my hands apart.

"Suxin, you can lie to me more."

The male lead moved his head to the side, softly kissing my fingers in the process. As if he's saying he wants me to continue lying to him. 'Buddy, you're driving me crazy!'

"Please."

Li Han held my hand like that of a child who doesn't want to get abandoned by it's mother duck. My eyes trembled. I quickly snapped my hands away from him as if I got burned. I stepped back, putting some more distance between us.

"How foolish."

This is unfair, how does this even make sense? I want to ram my head into the wall. This is really driving me into nuts!

My smile almost faded. "Li Han, you are a fool."

'I am the villainess. Why would you.. like me?' This male lead is clearly sick in the head!'

A knock came, followed by Chu Wanwan's worried voice. "Your Highness, it's time for your medicine."

I took a deep breath, calming myself down. Then I answered for Li Han. "Come in."

The female lead greeted the prince, apparently ignoring my presence.

I stepped forward, blocking her path towards the male lead. I smirked. "Lady Chu, I'll take this from here."

Chu Wanwan glared at me, shooting lasers out of her eyes.

"Lady Chu. Please rest for today."

'This unfair world. How can these people be so beautiful? Compared to this body. I looked like a shredded duck in a plate.'

In the novel, Chu Wanwan delivered the herbal tea she made for the prince. But Bai Suxin intervened at the couple's loving moment and insisted that she wants to help the fourth prince on his meal.

(Readers of the novel like me have the same reaction: So suspicious.)

Nan King was bedridden for days as he battled to overcome his extensive injuries.

Through Chu Wanwan's persistent efforts and proficient knowledge in medicine; personally picking and boiling the herbal medicines for the prince health, Chu Wanwan can see the improvement of Li Han's injuries. If she calculated right, if the treatment plan continue as it is.. the fourth prince will surely survive this calamity.

The arguments earlier with the villainess took a toll in her emotional state. At the moment, the female lead's heart was insecure and fragile.

Actually, Chu Wanwan was already tired and sleepy because she's been taking care of the prince for days. She doesn't have enough energy left in her to argue again with the villainess.

Thus, she let her. She thought, even though Bai Suxin was a vicious and greedy woman, her feelings and intentions to the prince was just like hers, pure and selfless.

'Oh please! The villainess Bai Suxin.. pure and selfless my ass.'

Chu Wanwan was schemed by this woman again and again, leaving her the impression that Bai Suxin was also in love with the male lead.

Since she was a child, Chu Wanwan was good judge of character. However, she misread the villainess.

Setting the tray in my hand with a dark expression, her eyes remained on the person behind me.

I fakely coughed. "Lady Chu, I sincerely thank you for your loyal service to His Highness."

The taunting words woke the female lead from her stupor. Her eyes sad, she eventually nodded. She stumped her foot and angrily left.

In the novel, Bai Suxin secretly added something in the herbal soup made by Chu Wanwan. As expected from the villainess, Bai Suxin played another scheme.

After carelessly sprinkling the white powder, I turned around. Placing the herbal tea in the table in front of him. A smile tugging at the corner of my lips. "Drink."

"You poisoned it."

I'm not even shock to the little changes in the scenario anymore. Because I know, even the male lead learned that I indeed poisoned the tea, I'll make sure that he would still follow the plot_ no matter what!

"You.. still, desperately want me dead."

This.. familiar words..

Three years ago before he left the capital to the south border, Li Han also said these words to me.

My eyes became unsteady.

The storyline is still ongoing, meaning I can't just give up yet. I must work harder! There's still hope in saving the plot. Yes, there might be a some changes but.. I believe I can still fix it.. right?

In the novel, it only stated that after drinking the poisoned herbal tea, the male lead collapsed. Due to this, the Prince Palace was in uproar. The female lead was framed again by the villainess. Chu Wanwan was arrested and taken to jail, charged with attempted assassination of His Highness Nan King.

"You.. want me dead."

With a hardened heart, I flashed my most winning smile.

"Yes. So die for me."

On cue, his face overcame with sorrow. Hopelessness and disappointments. The deep blackness in his eyes.. the bitter smile that slowly emerged from his lips.. the sarcastic laugh.. I suddenly felt faint and sweaty.

My heart grew more anxious and overly frustrated at the sight of this 'calm before the storm' male lead's kind of expression.

Is it too late to say sorry? (Justin Bieber?) Ahg, I want to take back my words.

Like a flower, his eyes gradually wilted, they became dry and shriveled with life. His smile faded away like the sunset. His laugh turned into an ominous silence.

I gulped.

I watched Li Han picked up the cup and in one go, he drank the herbal tea.

'Don't panic Liu Shishi. Keep your cool. Everything will be okay.' Actually, I just want to bang myself in the table.

'Relax. The male lead won't die.' Yet I felt my blood pressure rises.

Of course, in the novel, the truth came out in the end.

I prepared myself well for this scene. I practiced several times in the mirror the supposed-to-be shock face of Bai Suxin when she found out that male lead didn't die because.. tantanan_ Li Han is immune to poisons.

'Hah! Take that you vain girl!'
