"Ugh, I can't believe him! He's such a flirt!" I complained to my friends. Travis Stoll had just tried to flirt with me, again! I shut him down and walked away to the sounds of Percy and Connor laughing at him.
"Did you ever consider that he actually likes you?" Annabeth asked.
"You actually have a boyfriend, so you must know what that feels like." I shot back.
"By the way, who is your mysterious boyfriend? We are your best friends, we deserve to know." Rachel pouted.
Annabeth sighed. "It's... complicated. His friend group doesn't approve of me and my friend group, and vise versa."
Rachel's expression changed into one of shock. "Jackson."
I wrinkled my nose at the mention of one of Travis's friends. "What does Percy have to do with any of this?"
Annabeth looked down dejectedly. "You got me Rach."
The puzzle pieces began clicking together. "Wait, wait, wait. Your mysterious boyfriend is Percy Jackson?"
"Yeah, but he's not as bad as you think!" Annabeth protested.
"Not as bad as I think? They are all exactly the same! Huge flirts and playboys that are always chasing girls and then dumping them a week later!" I explode.
I turn on my heel and walk to science, ignoring the protests of Annabeth and Rachel behind me.
As I walk in, I'm greeted by Mrs. Stone, the science teacher and my Chem II teacher. Botany has more chemistry than you think!
Unfortunately, I forget that Percy and Travis are both in this class. As I take my seat and the bell rings, Mrs. Stone announces that we will be getting new lab partners.
Oh thank the gods. My lab partner was Drew Tanaka, and she always complained that I was ruining her hair or something stupid.
As I listen, I hear my name next to... Percy Jackson?
A/N: Be honest, how many of you thought that I was gonna pair up Katie and Travis?
As Percy walks over to me, he looks hesitant, almost like he's scared of me. He should be.
"Hey Katie." He started.
"Don't talk to me unless it's needed for a lab." I said, never looking away.
"I saw you with Annabeth and Rachel this morning. We knew you would be mad."
"Yeah, I'm mad! I can't believe she thinks you're not like all the rest." I whisper-yelled at him.
Percy looked down sadly. "I'm not like everybody else. Annabeth is my first girlfriend ever. I haven't even kissed a girl. I-" He stopped. "I've been in love with Annabeth since 6th grade."
I whipped my head towards him. "You what?" Did I hear that correctly?
"I've been in love with Annabeth Chase since we were in 6th grade." he confirmed.
I let my mind think on that. Maybe he's not so bad.

Lunch was really awkward until I broke it. "He's not so bad."
Annabeth's head shot up. "What?" she asked, her tone hopeful.
"Percy's not so bad. He explained himself during science. Apparently he's been in love with you since 6th grade."
Annabeth's eyes widened. "Really?"
"Yep."
"Wow, now that's commitment." Rachel said. "I wish someone was committed to me like that."
