Chapter 7 • Dual of the Fates

Asta stands in a beautiful field, his shirt torn from constant battle, wrapped around his waist as he holds his sword in hand

He eats pieces of meat he's picked up from killing animals, such as bears and more, with bottles of water he's picked up from the creek

He takes a seat, his deep blue eyes looking into the distance, seeing bodies of magic knights he's killed in battle across the tree line

"You see, it was a good idea to let me in, now that me and you have become friendly, we can exact revenge!" Lucifigus says inside of Astas head as he shakes it

"I don't want revenge, i'd much rather leave them alone at this point" Asta says as he spits out some bone, before digging back into the food he's made

Asta stops as he hears yells in the distance, looking over to see yet another platoon of soldiers, but with an interesting sight

Yuno leads the charge, his golden dawn outfit and cape flowing in the wind as he heads towards Asta

"Yuno huh?" Asta says as he gets up, finishing the meat off of the bone as he tosses it aside, putting his blade over his shoulder as he walks slowly to them, stopping a good distance away from them

"Yuno! I suggest you leave now, you should know that i'm not going to go back or that you can't wait take me down" Asta says as Yuno ignores his words, his hair covering his eyes as Asta grits his teeth

"Not Yuno... i don't want to hurt him, maybe if i kill the others and only injure him, he'll realize this is useless and hardback" Asta thinks to himself as the magic knights charge, Yuno slowly making his way towards them as Asta gets ready for battle

Asta leaps into the horde of knights, bringing his blade down in the middle and slamming it into the earth, causing a huge shockwave which knocks everyone onto the ground, Asta beginning his spree

Asta slices and cuts through almost all of the magic knights as they try to get up with amazing speed, wings sprout from his back as he cuts and slices through many of them

The rest that get up are nothing to him, Asta blowing a horde away with a explosive amount of anti magic, and easily cutting through the others

In about a minute flat, all of them are dead, only Yuno stands in the way of Asta now

"Yuno! Go home!" Asta says as he holds his blade at him, his dark aura becoming becoming to the naked eye as Yuno stands unshaken

Small tears come out of Yunos eyes, going down his cheek as Asta is confused

"Yu-" Asta says as Yuno shouts

50% PERCENT!

Yuno goes into spirt dive immediately, half of his body being taken over by a beautiful green glow, summoning his Spirt of Zeypher sword as well, Asta looking stern

"God dammit" He says softly as he redies his blade

40% PERCENT!

Asta goes into 40%, black magic with a blue outline takes over over Astas body, his eye turning into a darker blue as he gets ready

Asta charges into battle and swings his sword as it meets with Yunos sword in the middle, causing a huge spark of magic to run through the area, knocking down trees and sending land blowing away

"Are you gonna talk, say anything at all?" Asta says as he kicks Yuno in the stomach, Yuno yelping in pain as Asta sends another kick into his side, sending him into the ground

Asta lands on the ground next to Yuno, looking at him as he lays on the ground

"Go home, i'm not fighting you" Asta says as he turns his back on him, walking away as Yuno gets up

"YOU DEVIL.... FIGHT ME!" Yuno yells as Asta stands still, motionless

"D-Devil?" Asta says as he turns around, the somewhat friendly look and tone he had, is no more

"You piece of shit royal, i'll destroy you down to your last blood cell!" Asta roars as he launches at Yuno, Yuno putting his hands up

WIND SPIRT MAGIC - SLYPHS BREATH!

A huge gust of wind collides with Asta, sending him back as Asta shrugs it off, launching back at him as he charges his sword with dark energy

ANTI MAGIC - ALL MIGHTY SLASH!

Asta swings his blade, a huge slash being sent at Yuno as he bearly dodges it, but it cuts into his side, a new wound opening up

Asta fly's at Yuno with immense speed, Yuno try's to throw a punch coated with mana skin but as it collides with Astas fist....

SHATTER!

Yunos fist shatters on impact with Astas hand, Yunos wrist breaking as well as Astas pushes it back further and further, Yuno yelling in pain

Asta grabs Yuno by the hair and slams him into the ground, Asta getting on him and raining down on him with punches

"YOURE GONNA CALL ME A DEVIL? I THOUGHT YOU WERE MY FRIEND?"

SLAM!

"I LOOKED UP TO YOU, I CONSIDERED YOU MY BEST FRIEND AMD MY RIVAL!"

SLAM!

"YOU FOOL! YOU COULDVE LEFT ALIVE... WHY WOULD YOU MAKE ME DO THIS!"

SLAM!

"YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND!"

SLAM!

"I'm... im sorry i couldn't help you" Yuno says through blood, sweat and broken teeth, Asta stopping his barrage of punches

"I had to do this... i'm sorry Asta.... i should've helped you... i should've done something... i should've been reached out to you, forgive me... please" Yuno says falls unconscious, Asta clenching his fist as tears fall from his eyes

"Why is this happening... Why did it have to come to this?" Asta says as he gets up, tears coming down his face

"I... i shouldn't have gave in to this, this is all your fault, damn you" Asta says as he slams his foot into the ground

"ASTA!" A voice calls out for him as he can't believe who it is.... is it really her?

"ASTA!!" Noelle yells as she runs to him, Astas face changing as she runs onto the field, towards him

"Noelle..." Asta says with tears in his eyes, his form retreating, looking at her as she runs into his arms

"I'm sorry... i can't stop this, i just want it all to end..." Asta says through tears as he hugs her, Noelle hugging him back

"It'll be okay Asta, im here now, i'll do anything i can to help you" Noelle says as she is crying as well, but not for the same reason....
