Chapter 9

**THAT SATURDAY AT 8PM**

Y/N's POV:
I put on this bright blue dress. I looked in the mirror and thought my dress kinda reminded of Eliza. I straightened my hair and put it into a half up ponytail. I put on some light makeup and did a little spin to see if I looked great. Well to be honest- I did look great! I walked out and saw Lin in a black suit.

"Hey you look gorgeous!" Lin said.

"Thank you. You look amazing yourself!" Y/N replied.

"That light blue dress reminds me of someone." Lin said smiling.

"That's why I bought it-" Y/N replied with a slight giggle.

Lin gave Y/N a little smirk and Y/N blushed. Lin opened the door for Y/N and they headed to the car.

**AT THE RESTAURANT**

"Hello!!" Emily said.

"Hi Em!" Y/N replied.

"Hi you must be?" John asked putting his hand out.

"I'm Y/N. Also I know your name! You are John." Y/N replied shaking John's hand.

All of them all walked inside and took their seats.

"You didn't tell me there was a live band here!" Y/N whispered to Emily.

"Oh. That was a surprise! It's sad that they didn't show up today." Emily replied.

"Damn. On this special night too!" Y/N said slipping one of her hands into one of Lin's hands.

Lin smiled.

**SMALL TIME SKIP**

Everyone ordered and were talking to each other.

"So Y/N, I never asked this to you before um. What do you do for a living?" John asked.

"Well- I actually... don't have a job. I don't have a job because my crazy ex wouldn't let me do anything! I've always dreamed of being on Broadway but never got a chance to experience it." Y/N replied.

"Well I can tell by the Broadway fangirl in you, you found of the man of your dreams." John said smiling at Lin.

"Hehe yup. Won the jackpot!" Y/N replied.

They all laughed.

Lin and John were talking a bit and Emily gave a hand signal to Y/N. Y/N got up and walked to Emily.

"Are you a good singer?" Emily asked.

"What!" Y/N said confused.

"You said you want to experience some Broadway. Well this isn't Broadway but you could show Lin what you are made of!" Emily replied with a huge grin on her face pointing to the stage.

"No! I am not doing that." Y/N replied.

"Okay. It was a good idea though." Emily said as she was walking back to the table.

"WAIT-" Y/N whispered.

"I can do it- and I know what song." Y/N added.

Emily got excited and put a thumbs up. Y/N walked to the DJ.

"Excuse me. I know the band isn't here but I could probably help make it better!" Y/N said.

"Sure love! What would you like to sing?" The DJ said in his cockney accent.

"Gimme Gimme Gimme (a man after midnight) by ABBA" Y/N replied.

"Alright!" The DJ said handing Y/N the Microphone. The DJ started playing the music.

Y/N walked onto the stage and looked right at Lin.

"This one is for you Lin." Y/N said pointing to Lin.

Lin smiled. Emily started to get excited. Y/N started singing. Lins face grew into a huge smile.

Y/N walked down from the stage and everyone was clapping to the beat as she kept singing she ran over to Lin and sat on his lap. Emily couldn't control her excitement so she took her phone out and started to record everything.

"Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away
Gimme, gimme, gimme a man after midnight
Take me through the darkness to the break of the day" Y/N sung on Lins lap.

Y/N got off of Lins lap booped his nose and ran back onto the stage and finished the song. Y/N took a bow, handed the microphone back to the DJ and walked off stage and sat back at the table.

"That was amazing!" Lin said.

Emily and John had a smile on their faces and Y/N gave Lin a quick passionate kiss.

**AFTER THE DOUBLE DATE**

"Emily send me the video!" Y/M said.

"Oh I will!" Emily replied.

Y/N and Lin said thank you to Emily and John and said their goodbyes.

"You did great!" Lin said.

"Thanks. I practiced." Y/N replied with a laugh.

Lin and Y/N drove home that night and fell asleep.
