Jimin slammed the food onto the wooden table, making the vice chancellor lift a brow at him. He clenched his jaw, stabbing daggers with his eyes at the older man sitting calmly in front of him.
"So, care to explain this?" he retorted roughly.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Park, but I have no idea what you're talking about," the man replied, maintaining a blank expression with his fingers tangled together.
"Then you might have an idea why you sent food to someone who could be your grandson," Jimin snarled at him.
The man chuckled softly, shaking his head before taking another sip of his coffee. Jimin's eyes hardened as he threw as much glare as possible toward him.
The man cleared his throat, placed his cup down and put on a serious expression before looking back at the younger male. His face was impossible to read.
"I don't have any ulterior motive, Mr. Park. I was simply following orders," he said calmly.
Jimin huffed in annoyance and rolled his eyes.
"Then tell me why they did that," Jimin demanded impatiently.
The man shook his head.
"Someone higher up ordered me to do it. That's all I can say, so calm down first—"
"Don't tell me to calm down!" Jimin yelled, feeling his entire body boil with anger. "For all I know, this person could be some creepy stalker or something even more dangerous! How am I supposed to calm down?"
He was completely pissed off by the way the older man continued smiling as if everything was nothing more than an interesting game.
The man released a deep breath and rubbed his temple tiredly.
"Look, Mr. Park. As the chancellor of this school, I can't simply sit and watch one of my students go through a difficult situation. I can assure you this person is not a threat, so please calm down and wait. I'm sure everything will be over soon."
Jimin tried to speak, but no words came out.
He simply stared at the old man with his knuckles tightly clenched together. He wanted nothing more than to punch that irritating smile off his face, but jail was real and so was detention.
"Don't worry, sir. If you can't tell me, I'll find the stalker myself," Jimin muttered through gritted teeth before storming out and slamming the door behind him.
The moment he stepped outside, however, his anger instantly disappeared.
A smile slowly crawled onto his face when he saw a familiar male waving and walking toward him from a distance.
Taehyung.
Jimin couldn't deny that he had been getting along surprisingly well with the younger male despite having met him only recently. It was almost strange how quickly they had clicked, as if meeting each other had been inevitable.
"I'm not late, right?" Taehyung asked breathlessly as he approached him.
Jimin chuckled.
"Can't believe you're late on your first day at school."
Taehyung let out a tired sigh.
"My house is too far from school, and I woke up pretty late today. It's a bad habit I wish would just disappear."
He brushed his hair away from his forehead.
Jimin laughed.
"We're so compatible in many ways. What a perfect friendship."
