a regret

~

The man slowly blinked opened his eyes and turned his head to look at the cold empty space that laid next to him.

Heisenberg couldn't focus on building any of the Soldats in his workshop, his thoughts always drifted to his wife. He didn't realize how much her presence affected him. She was almost always in some part of the factory or at the very least near it.

He wasn't used to her not being around.

The ferrokinetic had grown used to his wife's nurturing ways, making sure he ate every few hours and making sure he was taking care of himself. She had always coaxed him into taking a break even if he firmly told her he could go without one for a few more hours. She was his rock.

Not to mention how much she stayed in the factory, a place she had grown to hate for many reasons, to look after him. All she asked in return was a greenhouse and a little bit of his time.

He groaned in frustration and tugged on a few locks of his hair, he was an idiot.

He sat up and started to get dressed, he knew that she would have fled to Donna's home. That was the only person she was really close with.

Heisenberg wanted nothing more than to go to the cursed dollhouse and pick up his wife, but he knew better. Y/N wasn't going to come with him, she wanted him to change his behavior and she would need proof that he had done so.

The winter months were hard on his darling, maybe a few windows and pots would be a good addition to the factory. He groaned and ran a hand over his face.

Some pots and a few windows were such a little display. The love of his life deserved a grand gesture.

He grinned to himself, he finally had some motivation to create something in his workshop.

The cold winter air smacked against the windows of the Beneviento estate. The Mother Nature of the village sat at a small round table in front of the entrance, nursing a cup of tea.

It had been nearly three weeks since her and Karl's squabble.

He hadn't come to see her and a part of her felt as though she had been forgotten. He had lived for a long time without her and nothing was stopping him from continuing the way he used to be.

As quickly as the thought came, it left.

Karl had hundreds of little trinkets he made for her all-around their shared room and her presence was well known around the factory. Plants were scattered all around the metal jungle.

Karl had accepted her into his space and she had become a regular part of his routine.

Would he really be able to give all that up for a petty argument?
