It is time to battle Gastrodon," Cynthia revealed her fifth Pokemon.
"Drapion, you have done well. Take some rest. I might need you later." Ash recalled Drapion and sent out his next Pokemon, his first fully-evolved pseudo-legendary.
"Gastrodon, use Stone Edge," Cynthia called the first move.
"Counter it with Breaking Swipe." Ash countered as the Breaking Swipe broke through the Stone Edge with ease.
"Use Earth Power." Gastrodon used the move as the ground cracked and glowed yellow.
"Dodge it and use Dragon Pulse," Ash called the attack as his Pokemon dodged and launched its Dragon Pulse.
"Block it with Muddy Water." Muddy Water successfully countered the incoming attack.
"Use Dragon Pulse once more."
"Dodge it and use Bulldoze." This time, Gastrodon dodged the move and went in for its attack.
"Goodra, use Focus Punch." Both the attacks landed on their respective targets but the difference in their power levels was evident as Gastrodon was pushed back. However, both Pokemon took damage from the attacks.
"Use Earth Power." Gastrodon used the ground-type attack again.
"Use Breaking Swipe once more." Goodra countered with the dragon-type move as both Pokemon took damage from the attacks. Gastrodon's attack power also fell.
"Ice Beam," Cynthia called the next attack as both the Pokemon were close to each other.
"Dodge it." Goodra managed to dodge it just in the nick of time.
"Use Stone Edge."
"Use Breaking Swipe," Ash called the counter as the move once again broke through the Stone Edge."
"Now, use Ice Beam," Cynthia called the ice-type move again.
"Bide." Ash was ready for the Ice Beam this time as he called the next attack. Goodra took the attack building up its energy.
"Gastrodon, use Ice Beam again. We need to win this before it can attack," Cynthia instructed her Pokemon as it used the super-effective attack again.
"Take it." Goodra had a very high defensive strength as it took damage from the attack but still looked unfazed.
"Ice Beam once more." Cynthia knew they had to end the battle because if Goodra managed to withstand the attacks, then it would be destructive for Gastrodon.
"You are doing great, Goodra. Just a little more." Ash encouraged his Pokemon who was feeling the effects of the super-effective attack.
"Gastrodon, use Ice Beam again."
"Unleash now." Just as Cynthia called the Ice Beam for the fourth time in a row, Goodra fired back at twice the power. It overcame the incoming Ice Beam and landed on its target before Cynthia could give any command. Gastrodon fell on the ground.
