"Thank you, my friend," Ash said as they shook their hands and hugged each other.
It was the day of the finals. Ash was ready for his battle against Guzma. He had entered the tournament only for this match. He hated bullies and criminals. And Guzma and his Team Skull were both. He was going to destroy him. He had chosen some of his most powerful Pokemon for the battle and he knew he would win it. He hoped after the battle Guzma and his team would not bother anyone as he had said during the registration. Because, if they did, then they would face the same fate as that of Team Rocket and the other criminal organisations. Team Skull was not an organization yet but they could be if unchecked. After all, every criminal team starts from small illegal and felonious acts. He was sitting in the garden after lunch near the stadium with Serena and Pikachu. His match was about to start and so, he was meditating. About twenty minutes later, it was announced for him and Guzma to report to the arena for the match. He held his wife's hand with Pikachu on his shoulder as they walked towards the arena.
Guzma knew he was powerful but so far, he used to battle those who were weaker than him, the battles he knew he would win. The Alola League was full of rookie trainers and he had hoped to win it and then destroy the league along with everything else that was dear to Kukui. But that damned 'Pokemon Master' had to come in his way by joining the league. He had avoided battling him at the Pokemon School but now he couldn't walk away; not with all his subordinates present. Guzma was nervous but he hid it well from his minions, though Plumeria caught his emotions. After all, who would not be frightened to battle the Pokemon Master and Champion of six regions, especially when the said champion didn't like you and you had taunted him. Nonetheless, he was going to give it his all. He would beat that Ash and then destroy the league. 'Yes, that's the plan,' he smirked at his thought. One of his underlings informed him that it was time for him to report for his match. On reaching the arena, he saw Ash and his wife along with some of the other brats standing near the Pokemon Centre. He smirked and went to the other side to enter the battlefield.
Ash saw Guzma walk away after giving him a smirk. Had it been the Ash ten years ago, he would have gotten angry at his opponent. But now, he just smiled almost feeling pity for Guzma. Almost but not exactly. He received a light kiss from Serena, who went to the stands with Pikachu and his friends, as he entered the battlefield.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is the moment you all have been waiting for. After some exciting battles over the last one week, the final match of the first Alola Pokemon League is here at last. We are about to witness history in making as the winner of this elite battle will be crowned the Champion of the Alola Pokemon League.
On the red side, we have the powerful and ruthless, Guzma and on the green side, we have Champion of six regions, Ash Ketchum. Who will win the match? Who will be the first Champion of the Alola Pokemon League? The match is about to start, people. So, stick to your seats to know the answer." The commentator announced as the crowd cheered at the top of their voices.
"This is a six-on-six full battle between Ash and Guzma with substitutions allowed at all times. The trainer to lose all six Pokemon first will lose the match and the other trainer will be declared the winner of the tournament. Both trainers will reveal their first Pokemon at the same time. Trainers reveal your Pokemon." Professor Kukui, who was officiating the match, announced.
"Toxicroak, go battle." Guzma sent out his first Pokemon.
"It's time for you to make an appearance, my friend."
Flashback (The night before)
Ash and Serena had gone back to their house in Melemele Island to see if everything was okay with all his and Serena's Pokemon. After everyone had settled down, Ash went to talk to his friend about something.
