Next day
Ash and Serena were at their training place on Mt. Silver attending their Pokemon and discussing strategies with their respective Pokemon. The Pokemon were informed the night before that they would be battling against each other in the finals. Ash and Serena had not chosen which Pokemon they were going to battle with. Now, they were discussing the possible strategy of their partner with all of their respective Pokemon away from each other. Ash had arranged a laptop and a projector help so that all of their Pokemon could witness the Finals between their trainers, which was streamed live worldwide. Obviously, Meowth was in charge of streaming the match. After taking their Pokemon for the battle with them, the couple went to the cafeteria to have breakfast with their friends.
On reaching the cafeteria, they went to the table where their friends were seated. They all greeted each other as they sat to have their breakfast. The news flashed on the TV screen.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, after an exciting day of two world-class battles, we have finally reached the finals of the Masters' Victory Tournament. Both the battles were extremely thrilling and here are the results of the Semi-final matches.
In the first match, the Kanto & Johto Elite-Four & former Champion Lance lost to the Kalos Queen & Top Co-ordinator Serena in a very evenly contested match that ended 6-4. And in the final match of the day, the Sinnoh Elite-Four & former Champion Cynthia suffered a loss to the champion of the six regions, Ash Ketchum in a match that was closer than what the score-line 6-2 suggests. With that, it is confirmed that we will have a new Champion and Runner-up in this tournament as both the finalists of the previous tournament have bowed out following their loss against their opponents.
So, Finals will feature the Champion couple, Serena and Ash. The battle will be six-on-six just like the previous two rounds. The match will take place in the central arena at 3 pm today. Get geared up everyone as we are going to witness history being created. It is going to be one exciting day. On behalf of the Pokemon League and the Masters' Victory Tournament, Reporter Alexa wishes both Serena and Ash their very best."
After spending some time with their friends, they went back to their rooms to relax a bit before the match. They did not come out of their rooms for lunch as they were planning their final strategies against each other. They did not know what Pokemon their spouse had chosen and had to be ready for all circumstances. They meditated for a while to calm down their nerves. Half an hour before the match, they appeared as they walked down to the Pokemon centre. After some time, they heard the announcement of the commentator. The biggest match of their lives was about to begin and they were facing each other. After a hug, they wished each other the best as they walked to the opposite ends of the arena. The final battle was about to begin.
"This is what we all had been waiting for. 320 trainers started the tournament with the hopes of winning the most coveted title in the world and after 766 battles we are finally down to the two strongest trainers in the world. One more win and we will have our newest Pokemon Master. Who will it be? Will it be a win for Serena Ketchum, the Top Coordinator of the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh & Unova Grand Festival as well as the Kalos Queen? Or will Ash Ketchum, the Champion of the same six regions, triumph over his wife? Both the trainers had very similar roads to the finals. Here is how they have fared so far in the tournament.
Ash started off with a win against Trip in the round-robin stage before defeating Harold, Kathy and Misty to top his group. In the Knockout matches, he won over Paul, Tobias, Karen, and Alain respectively to reach the Quarter-finals without losing a single Pokemon. In the Quarter-finals, he battled Steven to win 6-1 what proved to be an exciting match and further triumphed over Cynthia in the Semi-finals, winning 6-2 to reach the finals.
