Wale kissed Kind again. Then again. And for good measure, once more. Not a single speck of guilt anywhere in sight. "You started it," she muttered, tracing a finger along Kind's jawline. "Taking advantage of me just because you were plastered. Well, now you've gone and got me curious. And here I am, getting all self-aware of you." Her eyes widened as she realised what she'd just blurted out.

She shot up like a spring, ruffling her hair in frustration. "What the devil did I just say?" She glanced back at the completely unconscious Kind, still blissfully unaware. "Dangerous, that's what this is," she mumbled to herself, pulling back the duvet, half expecting some response from her own body.

Gladdened, nothing stirred. "Oh, that's a relief. I'd have lost my wits to find out I had had a thing for my best friend all this while," she sighed, reclining back, still utterly bewildered by her thoughts.

"So, that was your 'girlfriend', Todo, was it? Looked a bit too shirtless and manly for my tastes. What were you two up to, then? Naughty things, I bet. How many times? Ten? Twenty? A hundred?" She shot another glance at Kind, still out cold. "Are you dreaming about her right now? Kissing you, touching you, huh?" Leaning closer, she kissed Kind's neck, whispering, "Is she that good? Good enough to run off with? Is she wealthier than me? What sort of sordid fantasies are you having about her, K?"

Wale let her hand wander south, brushing lightly over Kind's more sensitive areas. "Not talking, eh? Keeping your dirty little secrets to yourself?" She smirked, planting another kiss on Kind's lips.

"Still, no reaction from the sleeping beauty, huh? Not even a twitch."

Wale's mind flashed back to that time when Kind had drunkenly demanded "release." Of course, she had thought it was all a joke; she'd always enjoyed winding him up, but now, well, things seemed a little more complicated.

Flinging the duvet aside, Wale clambered atop Kind, bracing her hands on either side of the bed. "You've lost quite a bit of muscle, haven't you? I mean, I like it. You look... cute. More like prey." Bending down, she kissed her way down Kind's neck. "I feel rather put out that Todo gets to see all this too. Makes me wonder... if I did this, would you love me again? Or would you run away to her, like before?"

Wale continued kissing Kind's body, intent on leaving her mark. It wasn't long before Kind's body began to respond.

"Ah, there we go," she whispered, a mischievous grin spreading across her face. But just as she was really getting into it, Kind let out a soft moan, which made her freeze.

"Naughty as you should always are, K, you're going to finish me off," she muttered, sitting back to survey the situation. Her eyes flicked between Kind's stirring form and her own handiwork. "When you wake up, you'll probably ask after that other woman, won't you? That bloody Todo."

Her mood darkened, and before she knew it, she had bitten down on the back of Kind's neck, hard enough to leave a mark. "There. That should do it."

She climbed off the bed, only to notice a certain reaction from her own lower regions. She glanced down, let out a low chuckle, and muttered, "Oh, so now you're reacting? What, the mere thought of someone else touching him and you're ready to go?"

She wandered into the bathroom for a cold shower, still laughing to herself. "Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic."

As the cold water poured over her, Cherry's face flashed in her mind, and a wave of guilt washed over her. "What have I done?" she muttered. She had been this close to fully taking advantage of Kind in his sleep, and for what? She was engaged to Cherry, for crying out loud!

"I must be an absolute scoundrel. If Cherry doesn't kill me for this, Kind most certainly will."

Stepping out of the shower, she checked on Kind again, who was still blissfully asleep. With a sigh, she collapsed onto the sofa in the living room, staring at the ceiling, her thoughts drifting. She truly did love Cherry, no question about that. She'd even prepared her parents' house for them to move into once they were married, a surprise meant to be revealed later. But the ridiculous part? She'd also prepared a room for Kind, as if she couldn't make any decision without including her best friend. She chuckled to herself.

"Not that either of them will agree to the idea, but a no from either of them is just a delayed yes."

A sudden sound broke her reverie, the door opening. It was Cherry. "You're back! You should've told me, I'd have come for you. It's after midnight," Wale said, trying her best to sound casual, despite the knot of guilt twisting in her stomach.

"I left my work clothes in the other room," Cherry replied, her tone cool. "I need them for tomorrow."

"I'd have brought them over..."

"How incompetent would I be of a man to have my girlfriend come pick me up?" Cherry interrupted. "How far do you intend to diminish my value over... Over others?"

"Kind's asleep in there, that's why." Wale said quickly. "I'll bring them to you in the morning instead."

"Forget it," Cherry replied, turning to leave. "I should've just Swalha being something for me instead. Goodbye."

Wale, panicked, reached out and grabbed his arm. "Wait, I'm sorry," she blurted, though she wasn't entirely sure if she was apologising for what he didn't know or for everything else that had happened earlier.

Cherry pulled his arm away, his voice low and steady. "Oh, I don't doubt that you love me, Wale, but what worries me is how much you love him." He paused, his gaze cold. "You want to possess him, control him. I've been blind to it for years, but now I see it clearly."

Wale stood frozen, Cherry's words landing like a punch to the gut. "Cherry-"

"You love Kind more. Just admit it to yourself, you idiot."

With that, Cherry was gone, leaving Wale standing there, utterly speechless.
